Hands-On With Hearthstone's Mean Streets of Gadgetzan

The streets of Gadgetzan are full of thieves, smugglers, and other unscrupulous characters looking to make a bundle of gold. At BlizzCon 2016, I took a dive into the upcoming Hearthstone expansion Mean Streets of Gadgetzan to find out more about the crime families, tri-class cards, and guns that shoot piranhas.

The tri-class cards are definitely the biggest feature for this set, allowing for loads of new strategies. Instead of being limited to a single class (which makes a set somewhat tied down in terms of deck construction), cards in each of the families can be played by three Hearthstone classes. Rather than giving each class a set of tools and archetypes, this allows for a lot more creativity when it comes to deckbuilding. The tri-classes are thrown into crime family buckets known as the Grimy Goons, The Kabal, and the Jade Lotus (Basically brawn, sneakiness, and spellcasting).

Hands-On With Diablo III's Necromancer

Hands-On With Diablo III's Necromancer

At BlizzCon 2016, I polished off my bone shield and got into the mix with the upcoming Necromancer class. The good news is, a lot of the iconic spells and abilities that made the Diablo II Necromancer a blast to play still appear in some form. During the demo, our abilities were preset and locked, but they do give the indication of what's to come alongside a classic suite of skills.

The Necromancer can Siphon Life from opponents, which also fills the "essence" resource used to fuel more powerful spells. As a spammy ability, Siphon Life is amazing for survival and can keep the necromancer alive through even brutal assaults. Once you have some resources, it's time to unleash some other potent skills, like corpse explosion or bone spear.

Everyone remembers the old corpse explosion builds that would clear entire screens of enemies after the first foe fell, and the move still appears potent. Bone spear can slice through packs of enemies, piercing through multiple monsters and dishing out serious damage.

During the Heroes of the Storm presentation production of this year's Blizzcon, Heroes of the Storm director Kaeo Milker showed off two new heroes and brawl coming to Heroes of the Storm. The latest brawl is called Blackheart's Revenge and will have teams of heroes fighting for different objectives, either helping Blackheart take the harbor or defending it from his onslaught.

The first up for the new heroes is Varian, the first multi class hero. There will be at least six different ways to play him using either a sword and shield, or twin blades. The other hero is Ragnoros, who can hurl a wave of lava that fills an entire lane or take over a fort to become giant. Both heroes should be available in the coming weeks.

Atlus has released another character trailer for Persona 5, this time highlighting the explosion of comic relief Ryuji Sakamoto. Along with the short character vignette, there's an interview with voice actor Matt Mittleman, who recently gave life to Saitama for the English dub of One Punch Man.

Ryuji looks to be close in personality with Junpei or a combination of Yosuke and Kanji from previous entries.

Routine's release trailer reveals a few things: its March 2017 release date and that its robots aren't very nice.

Set on a lunar base in the 1970s, Routine is a first-person survival horror game in the vein of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Outlast. Procedurally-generated environments and permadeath force players to act intelligently in the face of unforgiving enemies and a dark, deadly moon base. Routine is also playable with the Oculus Rift in case players want another reason to change their spacesuit pants.
