Dontnod Fixes The Past With Life Is Strange

Life is Strange, from Remember Me developer Dontnod, is an episodic adventure game about a high-school senior named Max who is studying photography in Oregon. The strange part about Max’s life is that she’s recently learned that she can rewind time, and she’ll use her new-found abilities to fix her life’s problems…which is turns out are many.

Following the lead of recent adventure games like The Walking Dead, Life is Strange lets players walk around a 3D world and interact with certain objects, talk with people, and solve puzzles. Max has recently moved back to her hometown in Oregon and reunited with her childhood friend, a girl named Chloe. However, since Max originally moved away over five years ago, Chloe has changed quite a lot, becoming more rebellious and making new friends. One of Chloe’s best friends has recently gone missing, so Chloe and Max team up to try to find out where the missing senior might have gone.

WWE 2K15 First Hands-On

WWE 2K15 First Hands-On

For a game that's coming out at the end of October, it's surprising that we haven't played WWE 2K15 or even seen it until now. However, it has helped build anticipation and prevented oversaturation that can sometimes sink in by the time a game is launched.

As we've heard, 2K is scanning in as many wrestlers as it can for inclusion in the game, including traveling to Shawn Michaels' remote home in Texas. Today we learned that the developers have traveled all over the U.S. with this mobile scanning setup and it wasn't just a one-off special favor. 2K confirmed that both Stone Cold Steve Austin and Sting were scanned in Los Angeles, and if the visuals we've seen so far are any indication, they're going to look great.

Currently, there are four playable fighters at Gamescom: John Cena, Randy Orton, Cesaro, and Goldust. As you can see in the screenshot above, the character models are impressively accurate. Everything from the shine on Goldust's suit to Randy Orton's smirk are spot on. You can even hear Cena yammering at the camera before he runs down the ramp in his entrance. Crowds look better with much more face and outfit variety, new child character models, and dynamic chants that respond to the situation at hand.

Supermassive Games Wants You To 'Forget Everything You Knew About Until Dawn'

about X hours ago from

In 2012, Sony and Supermassive Games announced a horror title for PlayStation 3 that worked exclusively with the Move controller. After that reveal, the game disappeared until Sony's Gamescom press conference earlier this week.We had a chance to get an in-depth rundown from Until Dawn's executive producer Pete Samuels and executive creative director Will Byles. Supermassive Games has been hard at work on Until Dawn and a number of other Sony projects.

The team assisted with a Project Morpheus demo at E3 and worked closely with Guerrilla Games bringing the original Killzone to PlayStation 3 in HD. Supermassive also built maps for Killzone: Shadow Fall and created every playable level kit for both LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet 2.

The studio's re-revealed Until Dawn borrows some sensibilities from its earlier Move incarnation, with gyroscopic control of the game's flashlight. Everything else has been retooled for the Dual Shock 4. "The first thing I want to ask of you is to forget everything you knew about Until Dawn before this week," Samuels says. "Imagine instead a tense and terrifying horror that is realistic and believable and where you can create your own horror story through the decisions that you make and actions that you take."

The Blue Hedgehog And His Friends Face Threats Both New And Familiar

We already knew Sonic's next adventure would see the return of stalwart allies like Tails and Amy while also introducing new characters, including a new friend in Sticks, and the series' villains will also get the same treatment. Sega released a new trailer at Gamescom today introducing Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric's titular antagonist, as well as teasing an appearance by Metal Sonic.

As you may have imagined, Dr. Eggman is up to his old tricks in this trailer, but things get a bit hairy for Sonic and pals once they stumble upon the reawakened Lyric, a mechanically augmented snake who seeks to destroy all organic life. Our heroes also encounter a giant robot sandworm known as the Driller.

Watch 11 Minutes Of Gameplay In This Guided Gamescom Demo

about X hours ago from

A new Gamescom 2014 demo features 11 minutes of Assassin’s Creed Unity gameplay, narrated by creative director Alex Amancio. You can watch the whole demo below, which follows protagonist Arno on one of his first missions as an Assassin.

The demo-walkthrough is pulled from an early “black box mission” in Unity’s single player campaign, in which Arno is tasked with killing a Templar named Sivert near the Notre Dame Cathedral. Arno is noticeably inexperienced with asssassinations at this point in the game. He turns to a mentor figure for advice, only to be told he’ll have to make his own way.

We Had A Hellraid Of A Time With Techland's Open-World RPG

about X hours ago from

If you’re a big fan of Skyrim’s open world and first-person combat, then Techland has a game for you. It’s called Hellraid, and coincidentally enough, you’re reading a preview about that game right now.

Hellraid will have players jumping into the boots of a medieval warrior who is the last living member of a cursed family. Your goal throughout the game will be to fight back the minions of hell who are homebent on destroying our planet – something that I’ve always wanted to do, but never really had the opportunity to accomplish myself.

Every class of weapon in Hellraid functions slightly differently. For example, during our Gamescom demo, we watched as our hero picked up a mace. These strong, blunt instruments are useful for stunning enemies and can also shatter skeletons. Our Hellraid hero also has a dash move, which is extremely useful for avoiding enemy attacks and closing the distance to ranged fighters.
