Three New Screenshots Appear Ahead Of E3

Konami has released three new screenshots from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain ahead of E3 next week.

You can see one of the screenshots above, and you can see the other two by heading over to CraveOnline.com. The screens don't appear to reveal any new details about the game, through prying eyes might be able to find secrets hidden in the images. Hideo Kojima rarely reveals media without at least some kind of subtext.

A new behind the scenes video from developer Ready At Dawn details the line the studio rides between history and myth for The Order: 1886.

You will learn the thought process that went into the game's fantastical elements versus its grounded elements, and see a little bit of in-engine footage from the game. The video also goes in-depth on the game's fabric and costumer design, which is surprisingly fascinating.

The Order: 1886 is coming exclusively to PlayStation 4 early next year. We're hoping to see more from the game at E3 next week.

A handful of new screens and two videos for the upcoming Tales of Xillia 2 re-introduce returning characters Jude and Leia.

You can check out the two videos below, as well as the screens in the gallery below. Since the events of Tales of Xillia, Jude has continued his research of spyrite – the mysterious, powerful energy source. Leia has since become a reporter for the local newspaper in Elympios.

In preparation for its appearance at E3, Frogwares has released a trailer for the upcoming Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments. Players will take on the role of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous detective, interrogating suspects and investigating crime scenes, including a murder mystery teased in the trailer below.

Similar to his skills depicted in BBC’s Sherlock, players can use Holmes’s ability to deduce minute details of suspects from a quick glance. Using all the sleuth’s resources will be key, because your actions, including condemning the wrong suspect, will influence which of the game’s 12 endings Holmes reaches.

PlanetSide 2 On PS4 Will Be Playable At E3

PlanetSide 2 has an enormous community on PC and a healthy economic driven in part by fan-created customization elements. Sony Online is on target to release the free-to-play title later this year on PlayStation 4, and it will be playable next week at E3.

Sony has re-confirmed that the title will be in front of the PlayStation Plus paywall, so you won’t need a membership in order to take part. You can get a look at the game running on PlayStation 4 in the new E3 trailer.

Telltale Taps Chris Hardwick To Play Your Best Friend

Chris Hardwick (the man who never ages) of @Midnight, Talking Dead, and Nerdist.com fame will be playing the role of Vaughn in Telltale's upcoming Tales from the Borderlands.

Along with Hardwick, Telltale and Gearbox have also announced Sam Witwer (Star Wars: Clone Wars) will be playing the role of Rhys, and the talents of Patrick Warburton (Seinfeld, Family Guy) and Nolan North (every video game you've ever played) will also be part of the cast.

The first episode of Tales from the Borderlands is expected to release this summer, and will be appearing at E3 next week.

Shovel Knight Arriving This Month On PC, Wii U, And 3DS

Kickstarter success story Shovel Knight finally has a release date, and it's not too far off.

After missing its March release and announcing it was, "essentially complete," in April, developer Yacht Club Games says Shovel Knight will be available on June 26. That date marks release on all three of the game's announced platforms – PC, Wii U, and 3DS. "We hit some snags along the way and we’re sorry that we couldn’t deliver it sooner, but, hopefully, it will prove more than worth the wait," Yacht Club Games wrote on its most recent Kickstarter update.

Yacht Club Games also revealed the art that will appear on the game's box, which will be coming to backers who pledged $50 are more to the project, which you can see below.
