Killing Floor 2 Makes Zombie Dismemberment Priority Number One

about X hours ago from

If you are familiar with Tripwire Interactive’s first Killing Floor game you know that the series isn’t just about killing zombies, it’s about killing them in the most delightfully gory ways possible. Unsatisfied with the levels of viscera in the first game, the developers plan to take the zombie bloodbath to new heights in Killing Floor 2, as detailed in their newest developer diary “The Gore: Part 1."

In this new video the developers explain the three pillars of the game: Bullets, Blades, and Blood (blood being the most important of course). You'll also get a look at how dismemberment works in the new M.E.A.T. System. Tripwire explains that the M.E.A.T. (massive evisceration and trauma) System is actually a bunch of systems working together to create the most spectacular zombie mutilation possible.

Celebrate All That Is Sleeping Dogs With Definitive Edition Launch Trailer

Sleeping Dogs was an under-the-radar gem when it first came out for the last-gen systems in 2012. Gamers are getting a second chance to take down the Triads, however, with the Definitive Edition and this launch trailer.

Note: This trailer for European markets shows a different release date. The game comes out in the States on October 14 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The Final Making Of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Is All About The Weapons

about X hours ago from

With Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel out next week, 2K Games is wrapping up its four-part behind the scenes look at the game. They’ve covered the partnership between Gearbox and 2K Australia, moving the action to the moon, and the characters. Today, we get to look more closely at the weapons.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel adds one new weapon type (lasers) and a new element (cryo). There are four different lasers that all take cues from sci-fi stalwarts.

Maliwan lasers riff on Ghostbusters proton packs, with beams that oscillate and dance, but are continuous streams. Hyperion’s are more like a rail gun. Dahl is your typical laser blaster ripped right out of Star Wars. Finally, Tediore weapons operate like laser shotguns, splitting into multiple beams.

Samus Joins The Cast...Sort Of

Samus Joins The Cast...Sort Of

There are apparently perks to being a popular game appearing exclusively on a Nintendo platform. Capcom's upcoming 3DS title Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is getting a dose of Metroid's famous bounty hunter – though it is technically her equipment and not the heroine herself.

In a post on Capcom-Unity, the developer confirms that items like Samus' power suit, cannon, and zero suit will appear in the North American release of the game in early 2015.

While it is certainly a cool addition, it isn't a huge surprise. We already knew that Link's iconic equipment is also included, and it is probably just a matter of time until we hear about another popular Nintendo character showing up.

New Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix Trailer Shows The Power Of Friendship

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix is hitting the PlayStation 3 this December, which gives players who never got around to playing it the first time around a little time to do some research. A new trailer should help.

It's not completely accessible to people who've never touched the previous games – the sequences of people arguing about the nature of kingdom hearts sounds particularly bizarre without context – but it's still a great way to see how the visuals are getting updated. Watch the clip to see a variety of heroes and villains from the Disney universe as well as some of the characters Kingdom Hearts introduced.

As we mentioned in an earlier preview, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix includes updated HD versions of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, and also the cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts Re:coded.

The Early Fights In Action

Bayonetta 2 is already out in Japan, but we don't have long to wait until the North American release on October 24. If you need your Bayonetta fix in the meantime, you can see the enemies you will be fighting in the introductory areas, along with some other interesting bits.

We recorded some footage of a handful of cool fights and fun moments in chapters one through five, but don't worry: You'll still have plenty of surprises when you play the game for yourself.
