505 Games Prepares For Launch With New Trailer

505 Games has released a new trailer commemorating the release of the latest iteration of its sniper action series. For those unfamiliar, Sniper Elite 3 puts you in the shoes of Karl Fairburne, an OSS agent whose primary directive is, you guessed it, killing Nazis.

Sniper Elite 3 takes you to a new location: northern Africa. While still set in World War 2, the environments look to be a far cry from Berlin, the setting of the previous two games. The game promises to bring larger environments and to provide more choices in how you complete your missions.

For those in fear that this third iteration would lose any of its signature gore or sniper action, consider putting your worries to rest. The trailer below shows the new environments, gameplay styles, and the gut-wrenching kill-cams.

Sony Online’s next big project is the zombie-survival MMO, H1Z1. At first glance, you’ll likely get a strong Day Z vibe, but game designer Jimmy Whisenhunt shows what makes it unique.

H1Z1 combines crafting and construction with the “dropped in the woods” concept that Dean Hall’s Day Z introduced. Sony Online is designing some of the game elements, but the emergent AI means that you’ll never know exactly what to expect from the world.

Your Mii's Size Dictates Its Fighting Style

about X hours ago from

In a new daily post from Smash Bros. director Masuhiro Sakurai, it was revealed that the size of your Mii will make a difference in how it fights.

Sakurai wrote alongside the screen on the Miiverse, "Some of the physical characteristics of Miis get carried over when you use them as Mii Fighters. The smaller ones become speed fighters and the bigger ones are more akin to power fighters." When creating or editing your Mii, you can adjust the height and weight. It looks like those metrics won't be purely aesthetic when you play Super Smash Bros..

Platinum Games Shares Bayonetta 2 Concept Art, Explains Haircut

In the latest blog on Platinum Games' website, the developer shares some concept art for Bayonetta, and explains why she decided to get a haircut.

You will also find some concept art for Bayonetta's weapons and face, as well as similar images for Jeanne, seen above.

The designs come from freelance artist Mari Shimazaki, who wrote, "After talking with Hashimoto and Kamiya, the three of us came to the conclusion Bayonetta’s not the kind of girl who’d show up with the same hairstyle for her sequel. A girl can be known to change her hairstyle depending on her mood, so I guess Bayonetta was in the mood for something short. Still, knowing her, there’s no telling when she’ll decide to change it again."
