Insomniac has shared plenty of details on Sunset's Overdrive's combat and world, but other than knowing the player character can be customized, we didn't know how deep the rabbit hole went. At Comic-Con, Sunset Overdrive's game director Drew Murray, creative director Marcus Smith, art director Jacinda Chew, and lead character artist Gavin Goulden gathered on stage with moderator Larry Hyrb to discuss how customizable the characters can be.

Smith started off the panel by reiterating that Sunset Overdrive focuses on fun over realism. Many aspects of the game don't make sense, and Smith and Murray don't care. Smith even jokingly said he would punch anyone in the neck who demanded an explanation regarding some of the game's more bizarre elements. After getting that out of the way, the panel moved onto the assorted customization options present in the game.

The team looked to a number of creative influences to direct the game's fashion. The anime Tekkonkinkreet, the comic book Tank Girl, and films like Scott Pilgrim vs. The World all served, among many others, as inspirations for the game's art style. As art director Jacinda Chew began gathering these influences to create assorted clothing options, they started organizing them into three distinct groups: normal fashion, street fashion, and costume fashion.

Nintendo has been drip-feeding us details on the upcoming Legend of Zelda/Dynasty Warriors collaboration in the months since its announcement. In a new trailer, we've got some additional details on what to expect from Hyrule Warriors, including multiplayer and overworld exploration, as well as some new characters in action for the first time.

The trailer shows a glimpse of two players roaming the battlefield at once - one on a TV using a Wii U Pro controller, and the other on the Wii U GamePad's screen. We also get a brief look at progression on the overworld map, modeled after the Hyrule from the original title, which presents opportunities to find treasure and complete trials.

Play As Pac's Friends Cyli And Spiral In PacWorld This Fall

Pac-Man may be set for a guest appearance on Nintendo's home turf in Super Smash Bros. later this year, but he's also planned to star in his own new adventure, too. Bandai Namco announced today that Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2 will launch October 14, featuring new worlds and new playable characters.

A sequel to 2013's Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures (based on the TV series of the same name), Ghostly Adventures 2 allows you to also play as Pac-Man's allies Cyli and Spiral, who fly around shooting foes out of the sky with laser guns. They put their abilities on display in this new trailer, where Pac-Man also gets a taste of a new power-up that transforms him into the towering Paczilla.

New Creedence Clearwater Revival-Fueled Trailer Serves To Build The Hype

CI Games' Dark Souls-esque action RPG has a new trailer, screens, and pre-order bonuses, straight from Comic-Con. Those who pre-order Lords of the Fallen will get bumped up to the limited edition free of charge. This will land you the Monk's Decipher DLC, the Demonic Weapons Pack DLC, and the game's soundtrack.

Not a lot of gameplay can be gleaned from this trailer apart from a few seconds of combat and a look at a few of the enemy types. Still, the trailer certainly sets the tone for what's to come.

New Enemies, New Weapons, And Frozen Tidal Waves

As part of Nintendo’s Comic-Con presence, a new Bayonetta 2 level was on-hand to show off some new enemies and weapons.

The new area I got a chance to play is the game’s second chapter. Not dropping in from the start (and being politely asked by Nintendo to skip all cutscenes) meant I had no idea what was going on, but the action was exciting and fluid.

I started with Bayonetta’s Love is Blue weapons, but with a tap of the right shoulder button, I switched over to the Rakshasa and never looked back. The Rakshasa places two gigantic blades on Bayonetta’s heels and two in her hands. It was faster and had a much wider range of attack, and holding down the attack button mid-combo let me build it up to unleash an extra powerful attack.

Released in Japan in 2012, the Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton crossover is finally getting localized for the United States, and we played through a large section of the English-language version of the game.

Our demo began shortly after the game’s opening. I began the game as Professor Layton, exploring a medieval town in a way familiar to players of any recent Layton title. I found some hint coins and met an old man complaining about the darkness. A wild puzzle appeared, and I had to move a knight through a room to light lamps by rotating the room either left or right. I’m not ashamed to admit I used every single hint in order to get through the demo as quickly as possible.

After solving the puzzle, I continued to travel the town and came across a bakery. In it, I found an amnesiac Phoenix Wright and Maya Fey baking bread. Wright had no memory of his lawyer days, which made it especially confusing when soldiers entered the bakery demanding his appearance in court to defend a woman accused of witchcraft. She specifically requested Wright defend her, which Wright agreed to, despite being oblivious to why his presence was requested.

A memorable non-human character from Ocarina of Time is entering the Hyrule Warriors battle.

Darunia is a tough leader, but many (or at least myself) remember him as the music-loving doorway protector of Ocarina of Time.

I got a chance to play as Darunia in Hyrule Warriors, and the fanciful spirit, balanced with a strength and the desire to protect his Goron brethren we saw in Ocarina of Time, translates well to Hyrule Warriors' button-mashing super battles.

Square Enix has announced that all pre-orders for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix will be upgraded to the limited edition at no cost. Unlike Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix, which came with an art book, this version has something you can show off wherever you are.

The limited edition comes with an exclusive collectible pin featuring Sora and Mickey Mouse. In addition to this news, we’ve got a new batch of screenshots for Kingdom Hearts Re:coded.

The HD 2.5 Remix includes Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, and the cinematic cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded. The title will be out for PlayStation 3 on December 2.

NHL 15 developer EA Canada has released a video showing off the game's new deke system. A lot of the moves may look familiar from past NHL titles, but the devil may be in the details.

Moves like feathering the puck in between sticks, spin-o-ramas, and toe drags have all been in previous titles in the franchise, but there are ways that NHL 15 can set itself apart. The video talks about performing moves on the glide and while moving at angles, which brings up the question of whether players will be locked into deke animations or if player movement while performing the skill moves will be fluid and responsive. It will also be interesting to see how independent the puck behaves the whole time.

The moves may look the same, but hopefully how it all comes together makes the system different and improved. Also key will be how these moves are pulled off via the controller.
