Now You See John Cena In The First Screenshot

Today WWE wrestler John Cena tweeted the first in-game screenshot of WWE 2K15. The screenshot (which you can click to expand) features an impressively rendered, scanned-in Cena shooting a debilitating scowl at WWE wrestler Randy Orton (Orton’s tattooed arm also pictured).

WWE 2K 15 is the first new-gen installment of the wrestling video game franchise published by 2K Sports. 2K 15 is being developed collaboratively by Yukes and the 2K studio Visual Concepts. For the first time, the scanning technology 2K previously applied in its NBA 2K games will be utilized to render the in-game models of famous wrestlers in greater detail and accuracy than ever before.

In addition to the incorporation of scanning technology, Visual Concepts and Yukes are introducing a number of other new features, which you can read about in our preview here. Cena will also grace the cover of the wrestling game, which you can see along with a short video with the wrestler explaining his cover shoot, here.

Exploring A First-Person Puzzler With Nods To Classic Predecessors

Though developer Croteam has roots in first-person games with its Serious Sam series, it's attempting something a bit more understated with its upcoming puzzle game The Talos Principle. In case you missed the livestream Friday, publisher Devolver Digital has archived an hour and 18  minutes of one of its interns playing the game, which you can view below.

The host walks viewers through the first hour or so of The Talos Principle, a game he describes as a blend of Myst, Portal, and Antichamber, showing off the ambient setting and items at the player's disposal. Keep in mind this is a pre-Beta version and just a taste of the final product (particularly amusing is when the streamer discovers buttons the developers put into the latest build and he just presses them to see what might happen).

Breaking Down Madden 15's Top 10 Overall Players

about X hours ago from

Madden 15's Top 10 player ratings (based on players' Overall) have come out, which naturally stokes the fires of debate. We take a look at who's on the list and who isn't, compare the list with last year's top 10, and talk to football expert and Fantasy Sports Hall of Fame inductee Paul Charchian about the how the list stacks up with the real NFL.

Higher Profiles & Higher Ratings

Looking at the list below, while all of the players are certainly top-notch players in the league, could this year's renewed defensive focus in Madden NFL 15 and Richard Sherman's Super Bowl win be related to his appearance at the top spot? Certainly the cover appearance doesn't hurt either! Last year when Madden NFL 25 was released (both for last-gen in August and new-gen versions in November) Sherman wasn't in the top 10 (number 26 with a 96 Overall). However, the latest patch for Madden 25 – after the Super Bowl – put Sherman in fourth place with a 99 Overall rating.

The Sage Of Shadow Slays With Her New Naginata

about X hours ago from

We already know that Impa, Guardian of Hyrule’s royal family, will be making an appearance as a playable character in Hyrule Warriors, but today we learned that she won’t be fighting with only her giant greatsword. Check out the trailer below to see the Sage of Shadow in-action, fighting with a naginata and a new, more agile moveset.

Impa isn’t the only character we know has multiple styles to choose from, as we’ve seen Link’s fire rod and power gloves in addition to the traditional sword-and-shield, as well as Zelda’s wind waker. The acrobatic flips and flashy martial arts Impa unleashes while equipped with the naginata seem a significant departure from her usual heavier style.

Super Smash Bros. Gets Angry Birds-Like Target Blast Minigame

about X hours ago from

With Super Smash Bros. just two months away on 3DS, we’re starting to get a better look at more of the elements included in the package. A new mode, called Target Blast, combines elements of the previous entries’ Target Smash and Home-run contest.

In this minigame, players will need to deal as much damage as possible to a bomb before launching at a structure littered with targets. Launching the explosive at the right time and aiming for the most chain reaction damage will net you the highest score.

Looking especially at the second image, this has a similar feel to Angry Birds, with pieces of the structure used to further the damage. The better you do, the more you’ll improve your “Global Smash Power” for online ranking. For more on Super Smash Bros., check out our coverage from E3 as the Wii Fit Trainer and Greninja. The 3DS version is slated to release on October 3. The Wii U version is yet undated, though Nintendo is targeting the “Holiday 2014” window.
