EA And Visceral Share 10 More Community Requested Improvements

EA and Visceral are continuing to keep the lines of communications open to fans. Battlefield Hardline is undergoing some changes following the beta last month, and feedback has helped shaped some of the improvements.

In this week’s “Community’s Most Wanted List,” Visceral talks about a number of things that will change the feel and pacing based on your input. Explosives will be toned down a bit, with less frequent uses and more realistic impact.

The HUD, customization screen, and audio are all getting tweaked to improve the delivery of vital information (like the enemy sneaking up behind you). If you happen to favor the Mechanic class, you’ll be happy to know that it will become more versatile by the next time you play Hardline. However, it will likely not be called “Mechanic.” Visceral is currently taking suggestions for a new name.

How Big Is Sunset Overdrive’s World? That’s The Wrong Question

In the latest episode of Insomniac’s Sunset TV, we get a new look at Sunset City. A number of people have inquired about the city’s size. It turns out that question might not be the right one.

“It’s kind of hard to compare it to other games sizewise just because the game is so dense,” says Insomniac’s Brandon Winfrey, the host of Sunset TV. “It wasn’t built flat, it was built with many layers.”

Character Deep Dive – Athena

about X hours ago from

Hello, traveler! Welcome to the first of our Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel character deep dives. We’re kicking things off in style this week with Athena.

Athena, who you might recall from Borderlands: The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, used to be an elite agent. Now, she’s taken her talents to Handsome Jack’s team, as the Borderlands 2 villain begins his ascent to power.

Athena’s active ability is the Kinetic Aspis, which may be easily confused with Captain America’s shield especially since she can toss it at an enemy for serious damage. When activated, the Aspis will absorb incoming damage. Once the timer runs out (or the ability is canceled early), Athena throws her shield.

Smash Bros. Director Masahiro Sakurai Details Newcomer Robin's Fighting Style

Robin, of Fire Emblem fame, attacks with a destructible sword a magical tome that changes powers.

Robin, alongside Lucina (who was also recently detailed), was revealed on Monday morning. Sakurai wrote on the Miiverse about Robin and his/her sword, "The Levin sword can be activated by using smash attacks – you can even activate these moves in midair! However, just like in the original game, the Levin sword can be used only a limited number of times before it breaks, at which point it takes some time to regenerate. When the Levin sword is unavailable, Robin fights using the bronze sword."

Sakurai also spoke specifically about Robin's tome writing, "The way Robin launches Arcfire is kind of crazy – he or she calls down a bolt of flame from above, then launches a pillar of fire! By the way, Robin’s tome changes with each special attack." You can see Robin throwing some fire with the tome at Captain Falcon in the image below.

Wrap Your Mind Around Visual Info In Just A Few Weeks

about X hours ago from

Sony's groomed its reputation for supporting indie developers in recent years, and it's showing no signs of slowing down. Today, Metrico level designer Roy van de Mortel announced Digital Dreams' platforming title will come to Vita August 5.

Posting on the PlayStation Blog, van de Mortel also showed off a brief gameplay trailer, writing that the team found it difficult to explain the game to others throughout development without having them play it for themselves first. He also announced that the game's first level will come free in the form of a playable demo upon release.

In addition, van de Mortel revealed Los Angeles-based Dutch artist Palmbomen, whose work has been featured in games like Grand Theft Auto V, to be the composer for the game's soundtrack. The synth-heavy, aural tracks and sound effects react to the game character's actions as he or she progresses through each stage.
