New Action RPG Features Cooperative Demon Slaying, Loot Collecting, And Jumping

Haemimont Games, best known as the developers of the Tropico series, announced today that it's partnering with Eurovideo Medien to bring out its first action RPG Victor Vran. As seen in the teaser trailer below, Victor Vran is very similar to games like Diablo where you take on hordes of demonic forces with various weapons, abilities, and skills to collect loot.

Unlike Diablo, all players control the protagonist, Victor, and customize him with weapons (swords, hammers, guns, and mortars) and various outfits. The focus of Victor Vran isn’t on the loot, but rather the action itself. To that end the developers included a jump button which is designed to open up combat and traversal. Friends can join you in slaying demons together or you can compete with others online.

Turn Based PVP Transformers Battle Game Released Today

about X hours ago from

Inspired by Transformers Generations, DeNA and Hasbro launched Transformers Battles Tactics today on the App Store and Android Marketplace. The game is a free-to-play title where you create a squad of four from both Autobots and Decepticons and challenge other players in combat. The game is turn-based, and knowing when to swap between forms and how to manage your ability points is crucial to success.

I downloaded the game and played for a few rounds. The pay elements of this initially free-to-play title aren’t very intrusive early on. You can speed up countdowns and access your favorite Transformers early if you want but it isn't necessary because they will unlock soon enough. It remains to be seen if the paywall becomes more aggressive as the game continues. I was happy to see there is a decent amount of strategy to be found. Even when I was statistically outmatched, I was able to win my battles by carefully dismantling the enemy army one unit at a time.
