about X hours ago from

Deep Silver has announced that it is bringing Risen 3 to PlayStation 4 in a digital-only “enhanced edition.” The publisher claims that the enhanced textures, shadows, and lighting make the new console edition look better than a PC running the game on ultra settings.

The enhanced edition also features post-process effects like bokeh depth of field (a photographic technique for artistic blurring of parts of the image not in-focus) and volumetric clouds that change how the skies look, especially during dawn and dusk.

The game will run at 1080p and 30 frames-per-second when it arrives on August 21. Deep Silver has tagged the game with a $39.99 price point, which includes the Adventure Grab, Fog Island, and Uprising of the Little Guys DLC packs.
