Escaping The Bermuda Triangle In PS4's Lost Sea

about X hours ago from

It's pretty much a given that if you fly through the Bermuda Triangle, bad things are going to happen. In Lost Sea, getting lost is just the start of your ordeal. After your plane crashes in the Triangle and you're washed ashore an island, you must build a ship to escape. But getting back to civilization isn't as easy as sailing into the sunset. That nearby island with the ominous swirling vortex above it surely must be a part of your route home.

The action/strategy title takes place in a procedurally generated archipelago where you must gather resources to survive and then to build a ship.

Balancing short term survival with your long-term aims is the key to the game, and there are tradeoffs in everything you do. For instance, keeping up your health is important in the near term, but saving resources for powerful upgrades could make your life a lot easier on the whole.

Shadow Warrior Arrives On PS4 And Xbox One With Bloody Launch Trailer

about X hours ago from

Shadow Warrior, a reboot of the classic 3D Realms’ title, has arrived on new-gen consoles. If you happened to miss it on PC last year, you can catch up on the swords, guns, and demon magic on PS4 and Xbox One.

The update leaves behind the racially insensitive content of the original, while keeping some important elements intact. You’re sword is quite useful for hacking demons to bits. The guns and explosions are present. And the main character, Lo Wang, makes all the jokes you’d expect of someone with that name.

Remedy’s Sam Lake Walks Us Through The Quantum Break Gamescom Demo

about X hours ago from

At Gamescom this year, we had a chance to check out Quantum Break in action for the first time. In a new video, Remedy creative director Sam Lake walks us through the gameplay and the time-shifting powers featured within.

This segment follows Jack as he has to navigate a bridge under siege by Monarch forces under the command of villain Paul Serene. Quantum Break features familiar gunplay, but once the time-based powers come into the mix, the title starts to differentiate itself.

The other part of Quantum Break’s gameplay are the moments when time stutters. These require a bit of problem solving and some platforming, too.

We’re certainly looking forward to finding out more about the game and its story. This includes the live-action segments that will be woven into the narrative and relate to the choices you’ll make as Paul Serene at the end of each chapter.

Quantum Break is on track for release in 2015 for Xbox One. For more, read our impressions from Gamescom. Also, note the Night Springs t-shirt at the end of the demo. Remedy gave us an inside line on that when we saw them in Germany.

Halloween Trailer Puts A Little Terror Under The Tires In Project Cars

about X hours ago from

The team at Slightly Mad Studios is throwing a few features into Project Cars to make players panic in the pole position. The Halloween trailer shows off more dangerous conditions and night driving.

Driving in a GT race must be scary in itself, but Halloween’s the time to make everything more terrifying. The severe weather conditions shown in the trailer below, like slick pavement and limited visibility, should spook players into exercising a bit more care on the track – or at least into gripping their controllers a little tighter.
