New Gameplay Video Showcases The Medic Caira's Unique Skills

about X hours ago from

Evolve developer Turtle Rock Studios has just announced the game's third and final medic, Caira (who is also the only playable character from Earth). Described as the smartest of all the hunters, Caira's mission on the planet Shear is to learn as much as possible about the mysterious Monsters. To do that, she is going to have to help hunt them down. She's also one of the most versatile characters, with the ability to heal, buff, and deal massive damage.

Her first weapon is her healing grenades, which affects a small area, making her the only medic than can directly self-heal. She also has napalm grenades that deal massive damage to the Monster, and set him on fire causing damage over time.

Finally, she has adrenaline boost which causes all nearby hunters to move faster, perfect for rushing the monster early or escaping a deadly attack. Check out the gameplay video below to see her skills in action.

Unfold Two Versions Of History In Bladestorm: Nightmare Trailer

about X hours ago from

Bladestorm: Nightmare, a strategy game developed by Omega Force and published by Koei Tecmo, is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xbox One on March 3rd, 2015. The game’s missions consist of the player fighting for either England or France during the infamous Hundred Years’ War, with a devilish twist.

Bladestorm: Nightmare features two play modes: Bladestorm mode, a traditional playthrough that follows a realistic depiction of the era, and Nightmare mode, which plays out like historical fiction.

Nightmare mode pitches the Hundred Years’ War as a backdrop for an invasion of evil creatures led by an evil Joan of Arc (more like Joan of Dark, am I right?). Joan controls an army of dragons, giants, and demons that forces both the English and the French to join arms to fight the otherworldly menace and restore Joan’s benevolent persona.

Htol#niq: The Firefly Diary Comes Stateside February 2015

NIS America has announced today that the platformer Htol#niq: The Firefly Diary will be coming to North America this February. Don’t bother trying to pronounce the first part of that title; htol#niq is an abbreviation for Hotaro no Nikki.

Firefly Diary follows the exploits of a Mion, a young, amnesiac girl lost in a labrynthine ruin. Unsure of where to go, Mion follows two fireflies – one light, one dark — as they guide her through the maze.

Players control the fireflies using the PS Vita’s touch controls, leading Mion through the World of Light and the World of Shadow. Along the way, they’ll need to evade dangerous machines and macabre traps that’ll do Mion in if they’re not careful.

It might be a year before we dive into the sequel to 2013's Tomb Raider, but we won't have to wait long for the follow-up to Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. The sequel, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is on track for a December release, and the team has released a developer diary chronicling the new four-player co-op influenced puzzle design.

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is an isometric action-puzzling game that supports four-player co-op, up from the two-player co-op of its predecessor. Players control Lara, archaeologist Carter Bell, and Egyptian deities Horus and Isis as they cooperate to navigate the trap-laden, ancient Egyptian environment.

“Since the release of the highly successful Tomb Raider reboot in 2013 we’ve been able to spend time working on one of the games we get most frequently asked for, a sequel to Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light,” said Darrell Gallagher, head of Western development, in a blog post. "The team at Crystal worked passionately to put the very best game we could in your hands and we are very proud to share our work with you.”

Just like in their first collaboration, players will switch among multiple characters as they try to solve a mystery that begins with a dead body under a bridge.

Escape Dead Island Plays Games With Your Mind

The latest trailer for Deep Silver’s Escape Dead Island calls protagonist Cliff Calo’s sanity into question. As if fighting off endless zombie hordes wasn’t enough, now players have to deal with an unreliable narrator.

Escape Dead Island’s third person adventure gameplay marks a departure from the series’ FPS roots. Unlike previous Dead Island player characters, Cliff Calo isn’t immune to the zombie virus, which affects the way he approaches encounters with the undead. As the trailer shows, players will have to balance both stealth and action mechanics if they’re to avoid getting infected.
