Check Out Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker In Action

The Devil Survivor branch of the Shin Megami Tensei series is a careful blend of a variety of different gameplay styles. It borrows from strategy RPGs and traditional turn-based RPGs to create something wholly unique.

In the gameplay video below, you’ll combat begin with traditional strategy deployment. You’ll pick your skills and demon allies, place your party members, and move on a grid.

Once you get close to an enemy though, the perspective changes, and the party member in combat has access to their skills via a menu. The view is first-person, and the combat turn-based as in a number of other Shin Megami Tensei titles.

No Pineapple Left Behind Fixes America’s Schools With The Power Of Magic Spells

If No Pineapple Left Behind sounds like a heavily criticized educational policy from a bygone administration, congratulations. You probably watched the news during the George W. Bush administration. For everyone else, just roll with the satire.

As we mentioned in our previous coverage, Subaltern Games' No Pineapple Left Behind is a satirical school simulator that casts you in the role of principal. You’ll manage the teaching staff by setting wages, hiring, and firing.

Star Trek Fans Can Boldly Go See The Timelines PAX East Demo

During PAX East, we stopped by the Disruptor Beam booth to check in with the developer. We had a chance to sit down with the in-progress Star Trek Timelines, which features characters, locations, and ships from across franchise history.

At the time, we didn’t have any video to show of how the game plays. Disruptor Beam has released a demo reel from PAX East, that will give you a quick look at how you’ll choose missions and select your away team for missions.

Square Enix Discusses Laundry List Of Fan Complaints

about X hours ago from

Earlier this year Square Enix released Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, bundled together along with a Final Fantasy XV demo. The demo, titled Episode Duscae, is a standalone adventure that allows players to explore a lush, open area on the hunt for a deadly Behemoth in order to become familiar with the new characters and combat. Fans who played the demo responded to Square Enix with myriad criticisms, ranging from the camera lock-on to issues with the difficulty.

Square Enix plans to make good on all these complaints. Director Hajime Tabata and marketing manager Akio Ofuji ran down 15 of the biggest pieces of feedback in a translated video released yesterday. The video was originally recorded on April 10, the day Square Enix announced it moved over 1 million copies of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. Only fans who purchased FF Type-0 HD were able to complete a survey about FF XV, so only those bits of feedback from folks who've played the game were taken into account.

Some of the fan criticism and proposed fixes involve unintelligent A.I., frame-rate drops, the dashing system, and sluggish animations. Square Enix plans to integrate all the fixes into both the Episode Duscae demo and of course FF XV itself. For the whole list of fan complaints, read this article by Kotaku outlining the main points of the video.

It’s Locke Versus The Master Chief For The Halo 5 Box Art

Microsoft has revealed the complete picture of the Halo 5: Guardians box art today. Over the weekend Game Informer (along with a number of other channels) were given one small piece of the image. Of course, the Halo community came together to assemble the components.

For those that didn’t see the puzzle put together, Microsoft has published the complete image, along with an “animated poster” of the art. The Spartan Locke “All Hail” trailer and The Master Chief “The Cost” trailer pitted the two heroes against one another, the art drives that point home.

about X hours ago from

If you read our December 2014 issue featuring Just Cause 3, you are probably itching to see the game in action. Good news! You can do that right now.

Square Enix and Avalanche have unleashed the first look at Rico Rodriguez’s third adventure. There are a lot of ways to topple a tyrannical government, but it’s hard to argue that there is one more enjoyable than “lots of explosions.”

The Bat Family Takes The Spotlight In Latest Batman: Arkham Knight Trailer

With Batman: Arkham Knight on a collision course for a June release, we're starting to learn more about the Dark Knight's arsenal. Those wonderful toys aren't his only assets. The enigmatic hero has assembled a team of allies.

Over the weekend, Warner Bros. and Rocksteady teased the appearances of Catwoman, Robin, and Nightwing. Now we get to see them in action.

It's not quite clear yet just how we'll encounter the other heroes, or if we'll be able to take control of them in the story. There are a number of team-up attacks (called "Dual Play") on display though, which makes us wonder just how those will be implemented.

We'll know more on June 23 when the game launches (and if we're lucky, even before that). Batman: Arkham Knight is headed to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Nightwing Confirmed With Teaser Trailer

The final of Batman: Arkham Knight's teaser trailers ahead of tomorrow's full trailer unveils a brooding Nightwing.

Much like the similar teaser trailers for Catwoman and Azrael (at least we're pretty sure it's Azrael), the very short teaser shows Nightwing looking into the camera silently saying, "Yes, I am in this game. But I am not telling you anything else."

All of these teasers are for a new trailer premiering tomorrow titled, “All Who Follow You,” which the game's director Sefton Hill has been teasing for some time.

Hands-On With The Enhanced Mobility And Specialists

With Black Ops III, Treyarch is changing a lot about the Call of Duty formula. On the campaign side of things, the developer is embracing four-player co-op, more open spaces, and near-future technology for its missions. The developer is also promising lots of customization options throughout. While I had the opportunity to see much of these new features in action during a studio visit to Treyarch last week, I also got my hands on the competitive multiplayer.

Here are several ways in which Treyarch is changing the game for Black Ops III.
