Weapon Foundries Explained And Detailed

about X hours ago from

In its weekly community update, Bungie has detailed the long-promised but as yet unexplained weapon foundries, offering a wealth of detail about why foundries matter, what makes weapons distinct, and why players should be excited about the options.

Weapon foundries are manufacturers that produce multiple guns, but all of them share certain visual and functional characteristics.

Hakke guns focus on “function over flare, ” with solid stats across the board in any given weapon. Talent grids have simplified, useable scopes, front-loaded perk nodes, and the stat upgrades are saved until the last column. In an interesting twist, Hakke pulse rifles shoot four bursts instead of three.

Swords Clash Violently In New Trailer

about X hours ago from

Ubisoft announced its new IP, For Honor, at this year's E3. It's a gritty game that blends different ages of ancient combat with a focus on melee brawls. We enjoyed what we played of For Honor at E3, and it looks like a handful of other outlets also enjoyed their time with the game. This new trailer highlights the media's kind words for the game, but more importantly shows off some new scenes of intense battles with brutal-bladed takedowns.

While you watch the trailer below, pay special attention to the amount of detail that has gone into making the clashing swords look terrifyingly powerful. The steel briefly looks like it's warping under the sheer force of the strikes.

about X hours ago from

The Muton enemies are getting an overhaul in XCOM 2, and the alien foot soldiers are more menacing than ever. Take a look at the creatures for the first time, and learn a few details about what new things they bring to the battlefield.

"The Muton benefits from human genetics in XCOM 2 meaning it now pairs its established brute force with the cunning intellect of the human mind," 2K says. "This makes the Muton more deadly than ever. The Muton also has several skills available including Suppression, which targets enemies and reduces their aim, while also providing a free reaction shot should that suppressed target decide to move. Additionally, Mutons still possess the Alien Grenade, allowing them to deal damage to groups of soldiers. So, be mindful of your soldiers’ spacing in the field."

1. Amari Cooper, WR, OAK - 82 OVR2. Jameis Winston, QB, TB - 81 OVR3. Todd Gurley, RB, STL - 80 OVR
4. Leonard Williams, DL, NYJ - 80 OVR
5. Brandon Scherff, OL, WAS - 80 OVR

We should remember that none of these players have played a down in the NFL. Over the course of a full season, Tennessee Titans' QB Marcus Mariota could prove to be the best rookie quarterback. RB Todd Gurley, meanwhile, might fail to recover from his torn ACL and end up as a bust. (After all, Johnny Manziel started last season at 77 overall.)

A Street Fighter Veteran Enters The Ring With A New Take On The Genre

Fighting games can be one of the most thrilling tests of pure skill, challenging players to anticipate their opponents’ moves and react with lightning speed. Newcomers hoping to tap into that excitement face an intimidating climb from the outset. What other genre asks its players to memorize arcane button combinations to perform the moves that are critical to success? More to the point, is that kind of barrier necessary? A new game debuted at this year’s Evo tournaments that poses those big questions, and it has a pedigree that could make even the biggest advocates of the genre’s secret knocks take notice.

Seth Killian is a well-known member of the fighting-game community, having worked at Capcom on its Street Fighter IV series and served as a public face for the franchise. Killian was a lead designer at Sony Santa Monica’s External Studio until last year, when he decided to forge out on his own. Now he manages a team at Radiant Entertainment, where he’s working on an all-new competitive fighting game on PC. With it, he’s hoping to make the genre he loves accessible to a new generation of fans.
