Latest Torment: Tides Of Numenera Trailer Shows Off Its Weird World

With Torment: Tides of Numenera, developer inXile Entertainment is working to deliver an RPG cloaked in mystery. Your hero arrives in the game's Ninth World without any memories of who they are or how they got to this strange new place. As a new trailer shows, "strange" might be a bit of an understatement.

The setting is based on Monte Cook's tabletop game Numenera, and it's not your typical fantasy romp. The Ninth World is actually Earth in the distant future, and a medieval-like culture is flourishing. There are remnants of the high-tech past in this world, and priests and intellectuals are working to understand the significance and functionality of these ancient devices.

Batman: Arkham Knight Live-Action Trailer Urges You To Be Batman

There are times in your life when you're called to action. In these situations, this live-action trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight reminds us what we should do in the face of adversity.

The clip tells us that there are times when courage and fearlessness are sometimes needed, even against seemingly overwhelming odds. Although personally, when faced in a dark alley (in the rain) with three assailants, my thoughts wouldn't tell me to be Batman, they'd tell me that handing over my money is a perfectly reasonable thing to do.

Batman: Arkham Knight is out June 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Overwatch’s Resident Gunslinger Draws At High Noon

Last week, Blizzard delivered two extended looks at characters from its upcoming team-based shooter, Overwatch. Zenyatta, the robotic monk, and Mercy, the techno-winged medic look positively futuristic.

Not all the Overwatch characters look forward, though. Today, the spotlight shines on McCree, a Wild West-style gunslinger. OK, fine. He has futuristic guns and a robotic prosthetic arm. He's still old school.

How The Odd Gentlement Create The Hand-Painted Look For King’s Quest

about X hours ago from

It’s fair to say that most contemporary gamers wouldn’t be content with a new King’s Quest game that looks like the originals. That means that The Odd Gentlemen, tasked with reviving the classic Sierra franchise, needed to come up with a way to honor the franchise without replicating its older look.

The decision was made to go with hand-painting, using some of the original references for the 1980s franchise. The result is cinematic animation that gives the new King’s Quest title a charming look all its own.
