Destiny: The Taken King’s Latest Trailer Casts You In Leading Role

You’ve seen a good live action trailer for Destiny: The Taken King. You’ve also probably seen a great one. There have been live streams galore. Now, with the expansion hitting tomorrow, it’s your time to shine.

Bungie and Activision have launched a new piece of the Destiny website called, “The Legend of You.” Enter your PSN ID or Gamertag, pick your character that has reached level 20, and off you go with a trailer designed just for you and your accomplishments.

Don’t fret, Xbox gamers. Just click the box that says PSN in the first step to change it over. It takes a little while for the site to cull your data (longer than the stated 60 seconds as people seem to be flooding it), but the end result features personalized stats that vary based on your play habits.  You can see mine below (though I'm sure yours is far more impressive).

about X hours ago from

TT Games and Warner have outdone themselves with Lego Dimensions, at least when it comes to voice talent. A new trailer for the game shows off some of the all-star cast, including Chris Pratt, Gary Oldman, Elizabeth Banks, and many more.

In addition to revealing a big chunk of the cast, the clip below highlights some of the game in action. Who knew that Unikitty and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man would make such a great team?

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada Gameplay Shows Off Brutal Warhammer 40,000 In Space

about X hours ago from

When we think of Warhammer 40,000, the image often conjured is one of a heavily armored space marine hack through Orks with a chainsword and blasting Eldar with a bolter. While those imposing ground forces fight over the uncountable planets in the Imperium of Man, war is also waged in the depths of space.

Battlfleet Gothic: Armada is a real-time strategy, but it isn’t the click-fest that you’ll get from Starcraft or its ilk. Instead, Tindalos is creating a game that’s cerebral in a different way.

Each of your ships, which you’ll be able to customize as you progress, has its own abilities and crew. As the they take location-based damage, you’ll lose the facilities with which to execute those skills.

Rock Band 4 Career Is A Choose Your Own Adventure With Fart Jokes

about X hours ago from

Harmonix has detailed how Rock Band 4’s campaign will be structured to give bands choice over who they become in-game. You’ll have the option to make boatloads of cash, stay true your garage band roots, or do some very odd things in the name of your art.

The choices you’ll make start off fairly routine, but open up as you and your band gain more notoriety. You’ll also be able to vote on songs to play during your sets and decide whether or not you want to give the crowd some say (including the option to perform an encore).

Despite all the choices, Harmonix says it has worked hard to make sure there are no “wrong” ones. You might end up with a manager that has a flatulence problem, but the game won’t penalize you for his beef and bean burrito problem. Your choices will shape your band's identity, but there's no way to lose and the game won't make you feel bad for your picks, even if you sell out.

We’re ‘Taken’ A Look At Destiny’s Shotgun-Filled, Led Zeppelin-Backed, Live Action Trailer

If you stepped away from Destiny, there are a lot of reasons to come back right now. The new leveling system means you might even be able to get through House of Wolves (and earn those Marks of Triumph) before it’s too late.

Activision and Bungie both have a history of solid live-action trailers, and their forces combined have delivered another good one. If only that fireteam brought three friends to fight Oryx.

Fallout 4's S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Strength Stat Explained Thanks To Vault-Tec

Fallout 4 is exactly two months away, and it’s time to start thinking about how you’ll survive in the wasteland. Bethesda is keeping quiet on the story, but that doesn’t mean complete radio silence.

In this first of (we assume) seven videos on the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stat system, we learn about the importance of strength. Increasing this stat improves your carrying capacity and gives you a boost with melee weapons.

We Go Hands-On With Telltale And Mojang’s Collaboration

about X hours ago from

Exploration is a key element of Mojang’s wildly popular Minecraft. From the first moments players step into the game, they can explore the world, as well as how they can use the world’s natural resources to their advantage. Perhaps the most compelling aspect, however, is the exploration of the player’s creativity. In spite of all of this, one area remained largely unexplored in the video game: the story.

With Minecraft: Story Mode, Telltale and Mojang have worked together to fill that narrative-shaped hole in a way that is satisfying and enjoyable for fans of both studios’ work. Novelists and fan-fiction authors have attempted to chisel a story out of the rich Minecraft universe, but Telltale’s collaboration with Mojang is the first time that a cohesive arc has been attempted in any official capacity.

Star Wars: Battlefront’s Drop Zone Mode Pits Teams Of Eight In A Race To Capture Objectives

Star Wars: Battlefront’s Drop Zone Mode Pits Teams Of Eight In A Race To Capture Objectives

Star Wars: Battlefront is shaping up to have all the modes you’d expect from a shooter (like the recently revealed Blast deathmatch mode). The latest to be revealed is “Drop Zone,” which pits two teams of eight against each other in a race for capture points.

Players won’t know where they’ll be needed, though. Pods fall from the sky, marking the next point of interest. Once captured, the pods slowly open delivering a power up to the team in control.

Modes move quickly, lasting no more than 10 minutes. They can be ended faster if one team manages to control five pods.
