Tackling Cooperative Play With An Aristocratic Robot

Tackling Cooperative Play With An Aristocratic Robot

Gearbox and 2K Games are finally showing off more of Battleborn, the "hero shooter" where you play in first person and choose from a wide variety of characters, from archers to tanks. As the new kid on Gearbox's roster, I haven't been sure what to think of Battleborn. The five-versus-five competitive play definitely has some MOBA-esque qualities and the progression system providing a new customization choice every level seems satisfying. After playing the game at a recent press event in Santa Monica, I'm still not sure if I'm completely on board, but I did have some fun moments and much of the appeal that comes from working as a team.

As previously announced, Battleborn will have three different modes. In Incursion, the first team to destroy the enemy base prevails, while Devastation is a capture-and-hold mode, and Meltdown has you thwarting the opposition while your minions sacrifice themselves in a single incubator located in the center of the map. Battleborn also has a story mode that you can play solo or cooperatively with up to five players.

Deadly Tower Of Monsters Puts You In The Middle Of A 1970s B-Movie

Atlus's second game announcement of the day is a decidedly different title than The Legend of Legacy. The publisher is teaming up with ACE Team (Zeno Clash, Abyss Odyssey) again, this time to put is at the heart of a B-movie.

Deadly Tower of Monsters puts players in the shoes of one of a number of protagonists that have classic 70s science fiction names. Dick Starspeed, Scarlet Nova, and The Robot all have their own pros and cons, and you'll be able to swap among them at checkpoints.

Try Bringing A Hammer (Or Jetpack) To A Gunfight

about X hours ago from

Blizzard has just released two ten-minute videos of unedited Overwatch gameplay in silky smooth 60 frames per second. This first video takes you behind the mask of Reinhardt, one of the Tank heroes in the game. He’s big, he’s angry, and he’s got a giant hammer. Watch him throw down in a full match on the hybrid point capture/payload map King’s Row.

Reinhardt players can use his giant shield to protect their teammates and create cover. Offensively, he has a ramming attack and limited ranged capabilities in his Fire Blast ability. His movement speed is slow, however, so aggressive players can quickly find themselves overwhelmed. Outside of his three core abilities, Reinhardt keeps it simple by just bashing his foes with that hammer. Anyone looking to get in the thick of the hectic combat might want to take Reinhardt for a spin.

Street Fighter V Changes Up The Fighting System In New Trailer

We're looking forward to seeing more of Street Fighter V next week at E3. To hold us over, Capcom has released a trailer showing off the four announced characters and the new Variable system.

V-Skill doesn't replace the EX Gauge, instead giving players another way to strategically unleash moves during a match. V-Skill can be used for free without consuming the meter, and it's triggered by pressing medium punch and medium kick togehter. For instance, Ryu can parry melee and projectile attacks. Nash can absorb projectiles and steal his opponent's health.

Release Date And New Video Revealed For Upcoming Football Mashup

about X hours ago from

A release date has been announced for a game that is quite possibly the most literal embodiment of the term "fantasy football." Blood Bowl 2 pits mythical races against each other while fusing the world of Warhammer with the chaos that is football. The release date announcement also comes packaged neatly with the reveal of two additional races; the Lizardmen and the Wood Elves.

The two new races, including their own AI, design, skills, and star players, will be available to players that pre-order the game on either consoles or PC. If two additional races don’t sweeten the pot enough, Focus Home Interactive has promised details about more pre-order bonuses in the near future.

Dying Isn't The End In Life Goes On: Done To Death

Failure usually means one thing in puzzle-platformers: restarting from the last checkpoint. Infinite Monkeys Entertainment took a different approach with Life Goes On, which came out on PC last year. When your knight falls into a spiked pit, for instance, his body remains and his successor can trot over his buddy's remains. Today, the studio announced that an updated version of the game is coming to PlayStation 4.

Life Goes On: Done to Death adds a new layer, with the corpses of your fallen comrades springing back to life to fight you and inadvertently trigger traps around the levels. Take a look at the PS4 version of the game below.
