New Trailer Digs Into The Toy Box

With all that talk about Star Wars, it's easy to forget that there's a bunch of other stuff going on in the new Disney Infinity. In addition to the changes to combat and driving, another area of the game that's getting an overhaul is its free-form Toy Box mode. Disney has released a new trailer that shows some of the new additions, including tools that let players create their own tunes, side-scrollers, and more.

We covered most of this in our June cover story, but it's always nice to see it in action. Plus, you can see a brief glimpse of Minnie Mouse skipping toward the camera as a robot is obliterated by a cannon behind her. You know, because Toy Box.

NBA Live 16 Targets Rival's Weak Point With Return Of Live Run

Over the course of its rebuilding process the NBA Live series hasn't attacked rival NBA 2K's weakest offering – the competitive online team play marred by frequent server disruptions and "got next" lines that waste players' time. Until now.

On the heels of NBA 2K announcing its revamped 5v5 online Pro-Am experience, EA Tiburon is stepping onto the court with a new suite of experiences for NBA Live 16 called Live Pro-Am (a name that appears to be popular among basketball game developers). EA says this collection of modes is based on the off-season experience of real NBA players, who often play in local leagues against talented amateurs and fellow pros alike.

Modes and Gameplay Features Explained In Our New Video

about X hours ago from

Several editors on the Game Informer staff have poured innumerable hours into the old Guitar Hero and Rock Band games, so we were cautiously excited when news broke earlier this year that both franchises were set to return. But I’ll be the first to admit to some trepidation about the first things I heard about Guitar Hero Live, especially the use of full-motion video as a major aspect of the game’s presentation. Activision recently visited our offices to show off Guitar Hero Live, and I got a much better sense of how the game works.

After the visit, fellow music game enthusiast Brian Shea and I sat down to look over some of the footage we were able to capture during the visit, and discuss what we liked, what we’re not sure about, and laugh about what happens onstage when you screw up.

Guitar Hero Live is set for release on October 20, on a plethora of platforms including PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, iOS, and Android.

Take A Look At These New Features

Nintendo has pulled back the curtain on Super Mario Maker, offering a close look at a few of the game's systems.

Players intimidated by the challenge of building Mario levels can relax. Super Mario Maker introduces its content over a nine day period, with more advanced tools, objects, and mechanics becoming available to players after they spend more time with the editor. Making the creative process even more exciting are new obstacles that have never appeared in a Mario game before. Dedicated Mario fans may be familiar with Note Blocks; by shaking the stylus, players transform Note Blocks into Music Blocks.

Horror Game The Flock Scares Up Release Date

Horror Game The Flock Scares Up Release Date

Death is coming to all players of The Flock sooner than you think. Today developer Vogelsap announced its asymmetrical multiplayer first-person horror game is coming to PC on August 21.

The Flock has attracted attention from horror fans with its unique premise. Every multiplayer match starts with each player as a member of the Flock. The first person to find the Light Artifact (which spawns randomly on the map) becomes the Carrier, who must then defend him or herself against the Flock by aiming the light at the pursuers. Flock members who get caught moving in the light perish forever so standing still is key to surviving. Should a member of the Flock kill the Carrier, they assume the role and the dead player respawns as one of the Flock.

If they remain still, however, they live. Games are won by capturing objectives as the Carrier or by keeping the artifact lit for a certain period of time. Don't think grabbing the artifact guarantees a win. By killing the Carrier, members of the Flock can steal the Light Artifact and become the new Carrier. The dead player will then respawn as one of the Flock. Players win the game by capturing objectives as the Carrier. The Flock can win by forcing the Carrier to keep the light on long enough that it extinguishes.
