Star Wars Battlefront Ad Features People Getting Undressed With The Force

If you don’t know anything about Star Wars, you might assume that the latest Battlefront live action commercial is about people taking off their clothes. Thankfully, that’s not the message here.

The new ad is a callback to the scene in A New Hope in which Obi-Wan allows Darth Vader to “strike him down.” What follows is Obi-Wan disappearing, leaving his robes behind in a pile on the Death Star floor.

Date A Mischief God While Saving The World In This Mobile Game

Marvel Entertainment and TinyCo, the mobile developer behind Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff, are teaming up to create a new Avengers mobile game. Rather than grappling with adult themes, TinyCo is bringing the world of superheroes back to school.

Marvel Avengers Academy is a new adventure/simulation game featuring the classic Marvel superheroes and villains in new roles as young high school students. Developer TinyCo teases that players will get to experience familiar characters like Thor, Black Widow, and Loki reimagined to fit their new personas.

Original storylines are also being developed for the game, according to TinyCo, written in conjunction with Marvel Entertainment. Comic book and animation writer Allen Warner and David Nakayama will also play a role in the game’s creation.

Tour The Four Launch Planets With This Interactive Website

Like a titanic AT-AT walker lumbering towards the Rebel base on Hoth, Star Wars Battlefront’s release looms on the horizon. Now a new interactive website lets future players journey to the game’s planetary battlefields early.

Upon loading up the Star Wars Planets Experience, users can journey to Endor (which technically isn’t a planet, but whatever), Hoth, Tatooine, and Sullust. Once loaded, your camera zooms through raging battles on each world, slowing to a standstill to launch informative pop-up icons. Clicking these will teach would-be galactic solders about weapons, landmarks, class types, vehicles, and more. Recruits can come away knowing everything from the difference between an Impact Grenade and Thermal Detonator, to the drawbacks of the Jawa’s retro-fitted CA-87 Blasters.

Though the website lagged and froze for me at times, it still provided an immersive look at the shooter's battlegrounds and mechanics. Star Wars Battlefront comes out November 17.

Players help their Beatnik evolve by completing tasks like winning arcade games, dressing their Beatnik up in music genre-inspired clothing, or playing their own music inside or out of the game. Players can also help build their Beatnik’s city and apartment by collecting activity rewards.

While free-to-play, Beatniks does feature a standard payment system to advance the game instantly. Players can buy in-game currency for real-world money at various price levels ranging from $1.99 to $49.99.

Koei Tecmo’s Attack On Titan Gets Bloody New Teaser

Attack on Titan isn’t what we would call a “feel good” anime. It’s filled with human suffering, usually at the hands and teeth of towering, naked monstrosities called Titans. Of course, that makes it perfect fodder for the interactive medium.

Koei Tecmo and Omega Force are bringing a new game based on the comic and animated show to PlayStation systems next year. A new trailer shows off the 3D maneuver gear that allows the human fighters to get close to the Titans.
