Lego Marvel's Avengers Pulls In More Of The Marvel Movies And Characters

"You'd think that taking the [voice tracks] direct, would limit what you can do," Traveler's Tales' Arthur Parsons tells me. "But it's actually pretty cool." When I previewed Lego Marvel's Avengers at Gamescom, I enjoyed the Battle for New York and Clint Barton's farm segments, but worried a bit that the follow-up to Lego Marvel Superheroes was bound to the two Avengers films.

I was told at the time that more news was coming, and that the game had much more to offer than The Avengers and its sequel, Age of Ultron. Earlier this week, I found out exactly what a large chunk of that extra content is and how it's woven together.

In order to tell a cohesive story, Traveler's Tales is reordering the events and making use of flashbacks. The game opens up with an almost shot-for-shot remake of the opening scene of Age of Ultron. I say "almost," because there have been a number of changes for comedic purposes. "It has to be authentic, as well as fun," Parsons says.

Capcom Adds All-New Character Laura To The Roster

The Street Fighter V roster continues to expand. While we've already seen several familiar faces appear in Street Fighter V, Capcom has done a good job of adding all-new characters to the upcoming fifth numbered entry in the legendary fighting franchise. At the Brasil Game Show, Capcom officially announced Laura Matsuda as the latest addition to the roster.

Laura joins Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Cammy, Vega, M. Bison, Birdie, Charlie Nash, Necalli, R. Mika, Rashid, Karin, and Zangief on the current Street Fighter V roster. Laura, who hails from Brazil, represents the first Jiu-Jitsu specialist in the Street Fighter franchise. She uses a grapple technique that features a projectile called Thunder Clap that stuns opponents. This move is designed to cause indecision in opponents' minds as they debate getting in close to engage Laura.

The new fighter also has a "Spark Show" state, which makes her projectiles further-reaching and her attacks and grabs deal enhanced levels of stun damage. With her moveset, Capcom claims Laura could become a favorite for players who like to get in close with their strategies. You can see Laura in action below and judge for yourself.

Rico Is On An Explosive Mission In New Just Cause 3 Trailer

Square Enix has released a new gameplay trailer for Just Cause 3, and it's appropriately packed with action. Take a look at the clip to see Rico escort his buddy to safety, while being pursued by enemy helicopters, jeeps, and more.

Don't expect any story revelations here; General Di Ravello is still a bad dude, and Rico is doing his best to free the civilian populace from this madman's control. The point here is that it shows off a bunch of gameplay, so kick back and enjoy.

Telltale Dates Tales From The Borderlands Episode 5, Offers Free Incentive

Tales From The Borderlands' season finale, The Vault of the Traveler, now has a date and a teaser trailer, and developer/publisher Telltale Games is offering a free incentive to get you on board.

Episode 5 comes out October 20 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, and Mac; October 21 for Xbox One and Xbox 360; and October 22 on iOS and Android.

The game's first episode, Zero Sum, is also now available for free to give you a taste.

Gameplay Video Demonstrates Zombies Aren’t The Deadliest Enemy

Capcom has a new gameplay video of its upcoming Resident Evil-themed shooter, Umbrella Corps. The folks at Capcom Japan go hands-on with the title, providing additional insight into the different ways players can experience the frantic, bloody action.

All the matches played take place in the game's One Life Match Mode, where players must eliminate the opposing squad in three-minute rounds without the ability to re-spawn. Thee rapid-fire bouts showcase Umbrella Corps’ fast-paced, close-quarters combat, as well as the unorthodox weaponry. 

Strategies on display include charging with the Brainer melee axe to land one-hit kills, and opening shutters to create new routes. The most entertaining (and fiendish) tactic may be destroying opponent’s zombie jammers, rendering them vulnerable to an overwhelming undead onslaught.

343 Details Forge For Halo 5, Brings In Top Cartographers To Test It Out

Halo 5's take on Forge is getting a whole lot of additions, and a new blog post on 343's website breaks it down in great detail.

The big addition is the ability to group a collection of objects together to move large creations as one bulk piece. The video below, in which 343 brought in players most familiar with Forge's tools, claims its creators were able to create certain things in a matter of minutes that used to take hours. It's all very impressive, but we'll have to wait until Forge is out in the wild to see what it is truly capable of.

Character Creation Goes Center Stage In New Trailer

You can be almost anything you want in the director’s cut of Wasteland 2 – even a total jerk. Publisher Deep Silver and developer InXile Entertainment released a new trailer today showing off the multitude of character options players can make in and out of battle.

Studio Head for InXile Entertainment Brian Fargo lists the choices players can make as they try to survive in the Arizona wasteland. Character creation includes squad management, character histories, attributes, skills, appearance, and more. Character creation also affects how certain NPCs regard your squad out in the wilds.

New to the director’s cut (other than being on the console platform) of Wasteland 2 is the “Quirks & Perks” system. Quirks are personality traits that can positively or negatively impact a character’s skillset. Quirks like “Twitchy” result in faster combat movement but lowered attack accuracy, while another guarantees constant success with hostile dialogue options at the expense of less uninviting behavior.
