about X hours ago from

UFC 2 is looking to shake things up with the announcement that famous (or infamous?) boxer, Mike Tyson, is on his way to enter the Octagon in EA Sports UFC 2. The bonus character unlocks through a preorder of the upcoming game, which also includes Bas Rutten and Kazushi Sakuraba as playable fighters.

What’s that you say? Mike Tyson isn’t and never was a UFC fighter? Well, that may be true, but there’s nothing wrong with imagining what might happen if he did enter the sport at the height of his athleticism and fighting skill. The preorder bonus includes both his young heavyweight boxer version, as well as an older “legacy” Mike Tyson, complete with face tattoo.

You can check out more from the creative team about why they chose to include Mike Tyson over on EA’s official page. UFC 2 is set to release on March 15 for PS4 and Xbox One. Get a taste of the action with the Tyson-themed trailer below.

Far Cry Primal Includes New, Historically-Based Languages Created By Linguists

about X hours ago from

Far Cry Primal might be a heavily fictionalized interpretation of human prehistory, but that hasn’t stopped Ubisoft from injecting a hefty dose of authenticity. Instead of conventional voice over, the upcoming game features new languages crafted by linguists.

In a new behind the scenes video, professors from the University of Kentucky discuss how they adapted prehistoric language for the game. Assistant professor of German Brenna Reinhart Byrd and assistant professor of linguistics Andrew Miles Byrd used ancient Proto-Indo-European as the basis for the multi-dialect language found Far Cry Primal.

Because there are some words we simply don’t have correlations for in the thousands of years old language, the duo had to fill in the blanks. Because one of the factions is more advanced, their dialect reflects refinement in the language.

Console Players Can Let Out Their Inner Wardens This Spring

about X hours ago from

Introversion Software's prison-sim is coming to consoles this spring. Double Eleven is porting Prison Architect over to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

The game lets players play warden and design the prison of their dreams – whether that means locking inmates away and throwing away the virtual keys or taking a softer, more rehabilitative-focused approach. Either way, you'll have to deal with troublemakers (surprise!), ensure that staff and inmates are safe, and try to turn a profit. The console version is getting an exclusive prison-warden mode that presents players with several premade installations so they can dive right into the game, as well as the ability to share prisons with other players online.
