about X hours ago from

You've played the Battleborn beta (or at least 2 million of you did), now read the motion comic! If you're looking for a little more context to what exactly is going on in the hero shooter, you're in luck. Gearbox and 2K Games have released three motion comics that outline what happened before players meet up with the game's heroes in the campaign.

The series outlines what happened before Penarch, the second to the last remaining star in the universe, was destroyed. It features Battleborn leader Trevor Ghalt, lots of panning and zooming, and more pulpy dialogue than you could possibly want. Check it all out below.

Chapter 1: Running the NumbersA few years and several hundred star veilings are enough to drive even the most loyal espionage agents to betrayal.

North Korea Invades The U.S. In Homefront: The Revolution To Collect A Mountain Of Debt

about X hours ago from

In Homefront: The Revolution’s alternate history, North Korea embraces free trade following the Korean War. The country becomes home to a Steve Jobs-like tech genius and the nation flourishes by becoming technologically superior.

Of course, with all of the tech coming out of North Korea and the United States’ hunger for consumables and weaponry, we get into debt. A lot of debt. You can see how that plays out in the game’s opening move:

MXM Makes A Play At The MOBA Market

about X hours ago from

At PAX East 2016, I played some of NCSoft's upcoming MOBA MXM (Master X Master). While I readily acknowledge that breaking into this genre today is a difficult task, there were some cool things going on in MXM that makes it an interesting addition to the crowded competitive MOBA market. It's a "pick a character, then go push down some lanes" traditional experience at the core, but there are some new and interesting elements that help set it apart from the endless deluge of clones.

Perhaps the biggest change is that you're actually in control of two heroes instead of one, with a "tag in, tag out" system to swap between them. You can swap freely in battle, though it has a cooldown to prevent constant swapping abuse. This means if you get focused in combat and one of your characters is down to dangerous health, you can pop your other full character out and into the thick of things.

Nintendo And Riot Alums Come Together For Advance Wars-Inspired Super Senso

It’s been far too long since we’ve seen a new Advance Wars game. Fans are desperate for a new entry, but Nintendo doesn’t seem to be budging. Thankfully, someone else is stepping in give the people what they want.

Turbo Studios’ Super Senso is a fast-paced turn-based strategy game that gives each player a towering robot (the eponymous Senso) and a number of smaller units. You're on a mission to take out the enemy base, and your opponent is live and playing at the same time, with matches finishing in mere minutes.

Each Sense has different abilities, like stronger counters or being able to take an extra turn after killing a unit. Losing your Sense won’t end the match, but it will set you back.

The Joys Of Controlling A Mech

about X hours ago from
The Joys Of Controlling A Mech

Our little pink puffball, Kirby, returns in his newest adventure, Planet Robobot, with a huge power boost – a giant mech. Planet Robobot is a Kirby standby, with the rotund hero sucking up both new and familiar enemies to gain their powers. Borrowing gameplay from its predecessor, Triple Deluxe, you move between two planes to collect different goodies and open blocked areas, collecting keychains along the way.

In my hands-on time, I found a lot to love. As a fan of Triple Deluxe, I felt right home and adapted to the game quickly, platforming through levels. Finding a way to access closed-off areas that contain bonuses is still exciting, but I most enjoyed getting inside Kirby's robobot armor (mech), since it allows you to crush once-powerful enemies with an iron fist. When you're in the robobot armor, you can still copy abilities, allowing you to change its powers. Being able to copy a sword knight and suddenly have swords attached to your mech makes it even more satisfying. The robobot armor doesn't overpower Kirby for too long, since you can only use it at certain points in the level for short periods.

Five Big Takeaways From Our Hands-On

about X hours ago from

Since the trailers have surfaced, most people haven't known what to make of this Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem crossover. Both series are usually serious affairs, but Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is over the top, transforming vibrant characters into pop stars. It's an unexpected direction, but that's not a bad thing. I spent two hours with the game and loved its lightheartedness and how it has fun nods to both series. Here are my five biggest takeaways.

The Zany Premise Makes Things FunThe story is centered on superstars mysteriously disappearing and having their creative energy stolen. You play as blank-slate protagonist Itsuki, and choose his responses for dialogue options, much like the protagonists in the Persona series. To help set things right, you and your friends must enter the Idolasphere, which transports you to an alternate dimension, and use your talent on the battlefield to save the day. Every battle is like a performance, with a crowd cheering you on in the background and the brightly lit stage giving you the perfect arena to display your moves.

New Hitman Trailer Provides Briefing On Second PS4-Exclusive Bonus Contract

You can run from Agent 47, but you're merely postponing the inevitable. The assassin's second target from the so-called Sarajevo Six has been revealed, and Square Enix and IO Interactive have released a trailer highlighting the PlayStation 4-exclusive bonus contract. Get to know Gary Lunn, but don't get too attached.

Lunn is another former member of the paramilitary unit CICADA, who is now working as a security officer in Sapienza, Italy. Coincidentally, that's where Agent 47 just so happens to be. Take a look at the clip below to see where Lunn is likely to spend his final moments.
