An Extended Look At How Your Choices Matter

Back in 2012, Quantic Dream showed off an impressive tech demo that introduced us to Kara, a self-aware android being assembled in a factory who comes to terms with her own emotions and humanity. Detroit: Becomes Human builds on that initial concept, transforming it into a full-fledged game that takes place in a near-future world. We were treated to a brief trailer during Sony's press conference this week, and now we can expand on that based on our E3 demo of this PlayStation 4 exclusive.  

In Detroit: Become Human, the androids look exactly like humans, aside from a circular mark on the sides of their heads. Androids have replaced humans in many job sectors, and help them with day-to-day tasks. However, some androids begin to show strange behavior, turning to extremes such as aggression and attempted suicides. This is an odd occurrence for the public to comprehend, because androids are meant to be emotionless.

Cast Of Characters Introduced In Latest Footage

The latest trailer for the Attack on Titan game from Omega Force shows off some familiar faces. The game is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Vita, and PC in August.

Our latest look at the game introduces the various playable characters, ranging from our main characters Eren, Mikasa, and Armin to lesser soldiers like Sasha and Conny. We also see the titan transformation in action, showing that players will be able to spend a portion of the game in control of one of the titular beasts. Fans of the series won't get any new story in this game, as it is a recreation of the show's first season. Check out the new trailer below.

Extended Gameplay Video Highlights More Ways To Slaughter The Zombie Masses

Sony Bend Studio's new open-world action game, Days Gone, is still shrouded in mystery, but the stage demo during Sony's E3 press conference wowed the audience with some impressive tech;  massive hordes of zombies smashed through walls and poured through every window and doorway in sight as the player raced to escape. Sony has released an extended gameplay video which shows off even more creative ways for ditching the undead masses.

Despite a more somber and understated opening that features the main protagonist searching for one of his friends, Bend Studio says its goal for E3 was to show off Days Gone's "brutal sandbox combat." The game is capable of rendering giant hordes of enemies, which are able to navigate the environment with ease. Thankfully, players can also use the environment to their advantage; during the demo, the protagonist springs a number of traps on the pursuing zombie mob, including unleashing a pile of stacked logs that roll down onto them, buying him some much-needed time.

Bend Studio still isn't sharing much info about Days Gone's intriguing world, so rather than walk you through the entire demo, you can watch it yourself in the trailer below.

A Deeper Look At The Remastered Classic

Along with some new information about the latest in the Call of Duty franchise Infinite Warfare (which happens to be our July cover), during Sony's E3 conference we saw more of the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare remaster. However, it will only be available as a digital download when purchasing the Legacy, Legacy Pro and Digital Deluxe editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will include the single-player campaign and 10 multiplayer maps from the original game. So far five of those maps are known, including "Crash", "Backlot" and "Crossfire." Two more, "Overgrown" and "Bog" were revealed during a Forbes interview with Rob Kostich, executive vice president and general manager of the Call of Duty franchise at Activision. The remaining five maps are said to be released at a later date.

Extended Gameplay Footage And New Screens Shows Super Sayian Action

Fans of the Dragon Ball series have plenty to be excited in the next Dragon Ball Xenoverse game. The title is bringing high-powered fighters to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

An extended demo unveiled at E3 shows off what a standard battle in the game will look like. Fans of the first Xenoverse game know what to expect from the sequel, but the focus on current-gen hardware ensures a continuous 60 frames per second and detailed environments. We also learned that user-created characters are going to present in the game. See Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 in action below.

Twin-Stick Hero Shooting Takes Off

Perfect World's upcoming title Livelock has a great recipe – Diablo-esque minibosses, solid twin-stick shooting mechanics, lots of shiny lights and explosions, and an incredibly focused selection of just three heroes that players can pick from to participate in single player or up to 3-person co-op campaign combat. There's no player-vs-player, but there is plenty of room for "build diversity" on each champion as players unlock new weapons and options as they level up.

Players can edit their loadouts to create their perfect vision of the tank, the damage dealer, and the support, but in the context of a mission everyone is always fighting and smashing those cooldowns – you won't be "left out" by selecting the tank or healer role. Additionally, all players can pick the same core archetype if they wish, as it's likely that the builds and options on each character will vary greatly based on player preference.

Hands-On Demo Proves To Be Spooky, Action-Packed Time

We got to spend some time with Gears of War 4 back in February and check out how the game was doing in our exclusive cover story. During our trip we got some hands-on time with the game, but only in specific testing environments and not the campaign or multiplayer itself. Yesterday, I got the chance to actually play through a segment of the campaign.

Good news, Gears fans: Gears of War is still Gears of War but with a few new twists and flourishes. We saw the playable segment during our cover trip, a 20 minute sequence that followed protagonist JD and his crew mates as they ran around a spooky fortress shooting monsters, and were pretty impressed with it then. However, getting hands-on with the sequence made it even more impressive, with sequences I had already seen before numerous times proving to be exhilarating and entertaining as I desperately wheeled around environments, taking cover and blasting monsters as they surged at me.

The new Gears definitely leans harder into action than horror, but the build-up to each action setpiece in the demo is impressive, with all sorts of monsters jumping out of hiding places, exploding out of gruesome jelly pods, or--my personal favorite--a single, seemingly non-threatening enemy screaming for backup and drowning the entire place in countless foes.

For the sequel, developer Respawn is going bigger, with a dedicated story campaign, renewed focus on deepening its multiplayer, and plans to expand beyond the Microsoft platforms and onto PS4. 

We sat down with lead multiplayer designer Todd Alderman to ask the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare vet how he plans to re-energize the competitive play.

Forza Horizon 3 Puts You In Charge Of The Horizon Festival...And Australia

Forza Horizon 3 is expanding, and it's not just because the game's virtual Australia is a massive place twice the size of previous games, nor the fact that it has the most cars for the series (350+). In previous titles in the franchise, as a player you've had to jump through the appropriate hoops to make your way up the Festival ladders. Now you're creating the Festival itself.

Being in charge of the Festival means you choose the events, build new sites, decide where they go, and even choose the music (users can import their own via the One Drive).

This creation ethos extends to the Horizon Blueprint feature. This lets you create challenges (including those from the series' Bucket List), down to the route, number of participants, time of day, entry requirements, and its name. It's difficulty will be set by you completing it. The game will then generate a poster for it and share this with your friends. These creations also assist your position as Festival boss.
