Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Breach Mode Trailer Channels Netrunner And Shadowrun

In addition to Adam Jensen’s story, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will feature an additional mode called Breach. We touched on it in our earlier preview, but you can get an in-depth look in a lengthy trailer that sets the stage.

In Breach mode, you play as a Netrunner-style hacker working to steal data from a well-guarded server farm. Your virtual avatar will encounter guards and other defenses, which function like the enemies Jensen will encounter.

Your goal is to reach the data towers and get out without being destroyed. Along the way, you’ll unlock cards that serve as environmental mods and weapon modifiers. If you played Rise of the Tomb Raider, the presentation will seem familiar. You’ll also be able to invest in your digital augments similar to how you’ll upgrade Jensen in the core game.

New Playthrough Video Shows Off Multiplayer And Singleplayer Modes

Publisher Mode 7 explores the market level of isometric action/shooter Tokyo 42 (shown in the announcement trailer a few months ago) and others in a new alpha playthrough video.

The video is narrated by Mode 7 co-founder Paul Kilduff-Taylor as he explores multiplayer gameplay and a single-player prototype in various areas described as a "cute yet uneasy and deadly Tokyo." The game is said to draw inspiration from the Assassin's Creed and Metal Gear Solid series, as Tokyo 42 has players hiding within crowds and tracking targets utilizing stealth mechanics. The world's art style is clean and colorful, and can be rotated in 3D to see all four sides of the active area.

Seven Big Takeaways From Our Hands-On With Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

about X hours ago from

With Deus Ex: Mankind Divided's release around the corner, we visited Eidos Montreal for a deeper dive before it hits this summer. While some of the footage we played was similar to what we touched upon in our May 2015 cover story, we were nonetheless introduced to other locations, levels, colorful characters, and an entirely new mode called Breach, which will release with Mankind Divided.

This cyberpunk sequel takes place in 2029, two years after the events of Human Revolution, which saw a magnitude of horror due to the Aug Incident, an event that forced cybernetically enhanced people to go violently berserk. Now, with millions dead, Mankind Divided presents a near-future world that cowers in fear, and points an unforgiving finger at those that are half-man and half-machine. Adam Jensen is much more bitter this time around after failing the save the world, but with better control of his abilities, and with a clearer target in mind, he's fiercer and more driven than he's ever been.

Here are our seven biggest takeaways from Mankind Divided.

Madden 17 Gets New Commentators, But More Importantly A New Approach

about X hours ago from

When it comes to the commentary package for a new Madden, thoughts rarely don't go beyond, "Who's doing it this year?" While the series has often relied on the name recognition of well-known TV commentators, what they say often gets less interesting after the first few times you hear the same lines repeated. But Madden 17 wants to change that, and the way it attempts to do this is not necessarily a matter of who they got, but rather how long they got them for.

The commentary team for Madden 17 is Brandon Gaudin (left, play-by-play) and Charles Davis (right, color/analysis). Gaudin has been the voice of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and will be working for the Big Ten Network this fall. Former Tennessee Volunteer Davis is a Fox commentator and NFL Network analyst.
