A Society Is Formed In Latest Story Trailer

The fourth Shattered Alliances trailer for Injustice 2 dropped today via the Injustice YouTube channel. Having seen Batman, Superman, and Supergirl's sides of the story in previous story trailers, this one gives fans a closer look at Gorilla Grodd's "Society", a cabal of supervillains including Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Captain Cold, and more. You can take a look at all the monkey business for yourself down below.

As with previous story trailers, there is a lot to unpack. Eagle-eyed fans will notice that Scarecrow here is shown in a lab oat when standing alongside Grodd, giving some credibility to the fan theory that his appearance when fighting is brought on by his fear toxin. In one dramatic shot, we see Batman and Superman appearing to have a conversation over a ruined Justice League table, hinting at the possibility that the two may have to team up to battle Grodd's Society, or even something worse.

Undead Labs Talks Map Size In State Of Decay 2

Developer Undead Labs posted a small update on the main website for State of Decay 2 that revealed some details about the size of the world in the upcoming sequel. Undead Labs says that the game will launch with three maps, each roughly the size of the world from the original game:

Hey, all, I’ve seen a lot of chatter about what everyone is hoping to see with a map. We’re finally far enough along that I can safely tell you: We are launching with THREE maps. Each roughly the size of the original. You should expect to see slightly different environments, definitely different landmarks and locations, different layouts lending themselves to different strategies, unique home sites, and even different mission types.

Why’d we do it that way? Well, primarily, because it makes the game more fun. It really feels like you’re moving from one small town to another, and creates a tremendous sense of immersion. And perhaps counter-intuitively, it makes the world feel even bigger. You know how on one map (even one three times the size as the original game’s) the longer you play, the more you start feeling deju vu with every mission? That’s less of an issue with separate maps. And see above about strategies and missions. Oh, and one more detail – the multiple map set up makes it easy to expand the world down the line, if you know what I mean.

New Developer Video Explores How Playtonic Brought 1990s Platforming Into The 21st Century

Playtonic is a team composed of ex-Rare developers who worked on legendary platformers like Banzo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64. It's fitting then, that their first title is an old-school throwback to the glory days of the mascot platformer. Yooka-Laylee wears its inspiration on its sleeve, and a new video from the team explores Playtonic's process of updating their classic mechanics for modern audiences.

Five Ways Outlast 2 Captures Mind-Bending Horror

When I played the original Outlast, I discovered quickly that I could never play it alone. As a solution, I roped in a friend to face the gory horrors of the asylum with me. Although terrifying, it was a memorable experience., Upon hearing that developer Red Barrels was planning a sequel, I was instantly excited.

Outlast 2 ditches the claustrophobic asylum hallways of the original and shifts to more open environments set in the Arizona desert. You play as an investigative journalist, camcorder in hand, who along with his wife looks into the mysterious murder of a Jane Doe. From what I’ve seen of the game so far, it is bloody, disgusting, controversial, and features more of a psychological tone than the previous installment. Here are five ways Outlast 2 captures mind-bending horror.
