PlayerUnknown Teams Up With Bluehole For New Battle Royale Experience

Game modder Brendan ‘PlayerUnknown’ Greene, creator of 'Battle Royale' game modes for H1Z1 and ARMA 3, is teaming up with South Korean game studio Bluehole in the making of a new open world PvP shooter titled PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

Up to 64 players will either work with or against one another on a secluded island during a last-man-standing fight to the death. Survival depends on finding vehicles, weapons, and supplies in a shrinking safe area in this core Battle Royale experience. Other entries in this popularly growing genre of Hunger Games styled PvP games include The CullingH1Z1: King of the Kill, and ARK: Survival of the Fittest

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds recently concluded it's first pre-alpha test where 600 players participated in test sessions. In the pre-alpha testing report, an infographic shares stats like tester locations and total death numbers. As game development progresses there will be additional tests every six to eight weeks.

Building a winning team is no easy feat in the NHL. From assembling the right team to working with the salary cap and keeping your facilities upgraded, a lot goes into a successful franchise. Get a glimpse at what it takes in the new NHL 17 franchise mode trailer.

Unlike Madden, which splits up the owner and GM/coach roles into different experiences in its franchise mode, NHL combines them. Thus, you'll be just as worried about putting a roster together as you are tinkering with food and ticket prices in order to make sure the fans keep coming. All the while you'll be feeling the pressure of your larger season goals, the constraints of your budget, and the possibility of being fired.

For more on the game, take a look at Bertz's seven takaways from the recent beta as well as a slew of additional details.

Form A Chaotic Mob To Help You Take Down The Greek Gods

Coffee Powered Machine's Okhlos is a goofy, strange game that tasks you with building an enraged mob who will follow your commands to take down the oppressive Greek gods.

Okhlos is an action game with light real-time strategy mechanics. You begin with enlisting a band of angry followers, and then move from one area to the next. Each run is relatively short as you try to get as far as you can to reach a new location. If you don't continue to destroy everything and everyone around you, you run the risk of having your followers grow bored and abandon the crowd. You play as the leader, who is a philosopher based on Ancient Greek history, such as Aristotle. When your leader dies, they are replaced by another, but only a number of switches can happen before it can result in a game over.
