Star Wars Battlefront II Creators Face Angry Fans

Star Wars: Battlefront II has had a rocky few days since going into EA Access, as fans have discovered that the progression system in the game feels designed to force them to spend money to get to the things they want. In what has been touted as a celebration of the Star Wars series, locking up key characters like Darth Vader beyond absurdly high credit counts rubbed many fans the wrong way.

In an effort to try and smooth this over, EA has been reactionary, adjusting the in-game economy to cut costs to a quarter of what they were, but also proportionally adjusting rewards for the currency. This lead many fans to get even angrier, resulting in an all-day wave of disapproval and outrage on social media site Reddit.

For whatever reason, EA has decided to face this head-on, and held an AMA (Ask Me Anything) forum with three of the game's designers today. While the moderation team made it clear that overwhelming hostility would cause the AMA to be pulled, the three developers definitely stood in front of an ornery fire squad to answer questions pertaining to the game.

Destiny 2's Curse Of Osiris Will Introduce A New Raid Lair Encounter

As part of its first stream detailing the first expansion for Destiny 2 (Curse of Osiris), Bungie answered one of the expansions's biggest questions: What will the new raid content look like?

With Curse of Osiris, the developer is introducing Raid Lairs, a new kind of shorter, six-player raid encounter. Curse of Osiris' Raid Lair is called "Leviathan, Eater of Worlds," and as the name implies, will return players to Cabal emperor Calus's massive, planet-eating ship. Rather than head for the top of the ship, players will take a lower path to enter Eater of Worlds.

Star Ghost Lands On The Switch This Month From Ex-Rare Dev

Launching into space and taking on aliens is a tried-and-true element for video games, and sometimes we need a little jolt of that old school flavor. Star Ghost, a 2D starfighter game from ex-Retro and Rare developer Rhys Lewis, brings that old school, space chase charm to the Switch eShop on November 30.

Originally released on the Wii U last year, Star Ghost tasks players with shooting their way through 12 dynamically-generated star systems all to the tune of veteran Donkey Kong Country composer David Wise's propulsive, synth-laden soundtrack. Weapon upgrades and score multipliers are obviously par for the course. Check out some of what the Switch port has to offer in the trailer below.

Arika’s Upcoming Fighting Game Gets A Name, Beta Dates

The game formerly known as “The Mysterious Fighting Game” now has an official name: Fighting EX Layer.

Fighting EX Layer is an off-shoot, of sorts, from the PlayStation-era Street Fighter EX games, sans all of the Street Fighter characters. The announcement of the game’s name comes after troubles in the naming process that caused delays, according to a post from Arika founder Akira Nishitani on the PlayStation Blog.

Nishitani also says a beta for the game will start following PlayStation Experience on December 11. The beta will last for two weeks and include six playable characters: Kairi, Garuda, Skullomania, Darun Mister, Allen Snider, and Shirase. Those attending PlayStation Experience will be able to play a demo version of the game before the beta begins.
