PlayStation Network Is Currently Down

In a fit of what we can only hope is unfortunate timing, PlayStation Network is currently down.

The outage came this morning as players tried to log in, only to be greeted with a system level message stating that the PlayStation Network is down. A quick perusal of Sony's PSN status site also confirms that most major functions of the network are not working at the moment, except for PlayStation Vue.

The AskPlayStation twitter has confirmed that there are issues, but has not gone into any more detail. For right now, there's not much that can be done besides sitting and waiting it out and hoping it gets fixed today.

A Minecraft-Inspired Ark: Survival Evolved Spinoff PixArk Announced

A voxel-based spinoff of Ark, titled PixArk, has been revealed and will be entering Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview in March.

Ark is a successful survival sim on PC on Xbox One, but can be a bit on the impenetrable side. PixArk was technically revealed last year as a result of a deal between developer Snail Games and Ark: Survival Evolved developer Studio Wildcard, but is debuting with this announcement.

The game is taking a lot of Ark's survival sim aspects, such dinosaur taming, crafting, base building, and multiplayer cooperation and transferring them into a more kid-friendly package. Most of those qualities are already well known to fit with Minecraft, so the transition should be fairly seamless.

Sonic Forces Super Sonic DLC Made Free Permanently

Sonic Forces Super Sonic DLC Made Free Permanently

The Super Sonic DLC for Sonic Forces, originally only temporarily free, has been made free permanently.

The DLC was released last month as an add-on to Sonic Forces with a free price tag, which was a good price as the game curiously lacked any Super Sonic transformation, uncommon for a Sonic title. Sega's original intention was to start charging for the ability to turn into Super Sonic this week, but has rather decided to keep it free.

It is unclear why they planned to charge for it, regardless, but it is good that they decided not to in the end.
