VR Game Sea Hero Quest Detects Early Stages Of Alzheimer's

Sea Hero Quest, a VR game built specifically to identify the early stages of Alzeimer's, has been incredibly effective according to a new study.

In Sea Hero Quest, you navigate a boat. Your objective is to reach different checkpoints with the help of a map, but later on, the map is taken away completely so that you must travel to these destinations on memory alone. This formula has helped researchers and medical professionals identify the early onset of Alzeimer's in people who haven't yet experienced major symptoms.

These mild symptoms aren't always detectable with medical tests, and according to a study published in the journal PNAS, Sea Hero Quest has been so effective that it is doing better job of identifying them than traditional tests can.

Watch Eight Minutes Of New Gameplay From A Plague Tale: Innocence

A Plague Tale: Innocence is an upcoming action adventure game from developer Asobo Studio and publisher Focus Home Interactive, that takes place in 14th century France. It follows the story of two siblings, Amicia and Hugo, who attempt to survive the plague-ridden country.

Recently, Asobo Studio showed off eight minutes of gameplay from the upcoming title. We watch teenage Amicia stealthily making her way through a village to eventually reach a university. During her journey, we see her distract enemies by launching throwables at them or even throwing a rock at a hanging corpse to catch a guard's attention.

Some light crafting is shown, as well as how rats are afraid of light. Amicia equips a torch to fend them off. Rats pose a deadly threat, and through this demo, we see her sneakily avoiding them or leading them feed on guards instead of herself.

This Mod Swaps Sekiro's Great Serpent For Thomas The Tank Engine

What would it be like if one of the bosses in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was... Thomas the Tank Engine? Well, it turns out the result is something altogether terrifying and hilarious.

Swapping enemies out for Thomas the Tank Engine has become a running joke in the mod community. For example, one of the more recent examples is Thomas taking the place of Mr. X in Resident Evil 2 thanks to a mod.

Now, you can defeat Thomas (or just watch in horror with the video below) when he takes the place of the Great Serpent in Sekiro.

Dreams Creator Reimagines Spider-Man PS4 Intro Sequence

Dreams Creator Reimagines Spider-Man PS4 Intro Sequence

Dreams has only been in PS4 Early Access for a week and a half, but that hasn't stopped creators from doing some pretty neat stuff using their limited time with the content-creation toolset. While some are using it for things like creating their own version of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, others are paying homage to their favorite video games within Media Molecule's tools.

Twitter user Tamir Williams shared their creation on their feed, and as the below tweet points out, the reception was overwhelming for them. While they fully admit they're looking at creating or borrowing a better model for Spider-Man himself (some have entered the replies to the tweet offering to send them models they've made), the webbing sounds like it was a beast to model, taking around two hours for Williams to create it frame by frame.

You can see the recreation in the embedded tweet below. If you're in the Dreams Creator Early Access, you can follow this creator here.
