Overwatch League Player Suspended Indefinitely Following Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a minor, 21-year-old Overwatch League player Jonathan “DreamKazper” Sanchez has been suspended indefinitely from the league and from his team Boston Uprising.

News began to spread on Twitter this Sunday, where a collection of screenshots that portrayed conversations between Sanchez and a 14-year-old fan were circulated. These screenshots were accompanied by a statement from the fan, who says she was taken advantage of by Sanchez when their friendship gradually became more sexual. He wrote sexually explicit messages to her through Twitter DMs, and engaged in a sexual manner through FaceTime and Snapchat.

Both the Overwatch League and Boston Uprising have released statements addressing the issue, and have promptly suspended Sanchez. You can read the statements below.

Resident Evil 7 Has Sold More Than 5 Million Copies

Capcom announced recently that Resident Evil 7 has reached a new sales milestone: it has sold 5.1 million copies worldwide since its release in January 2017.

These sales reflect number of copies sold on all platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The news was shared in a press release that led with how Resident Evil 7 won best VR audio at the 2018 Game Audio Network Guild awards. While these sales are a significant milestone, it's worth noting that Resident Evil 7 has not yet outperformed the success of its predecessors in the series.

Late last year, Resident Evil 7 won best VR/AR title at The Game Awards. You can read about how associate editor Javy Gwaltney believes that Resident Evil 7 does a fantastic job of reinventing the series by heading here.

Second PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Map Miramar Comes To Xbox One In May

During a panel at PAX East, the titular PlayerUnknown himself Brendan Greene confirmed that PUBG's second map will be coming to Xbox One next month.

The desert map Miramar has been available on PC since December, with the team working hard to get it ported to the Xbox One version, which is following a different content and balance roadmap. While the PC version launched into 1.0 and out of early access with the release of Miramar, it's not clear if the map heralds the same thing on Xbox One.

The rest of the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds panel was a celebrity-filled match of the game with electronic-musician and apparently PUBG superfan deadmau5 sitting with Greene and Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb talking about and playing the game. Hyrb lent his account to deadmau5 as the artist explained his love for the game.

Square Enix Explains Dragon Quest XI Switch Delay And 3DS No-Show

Last week, Square Enix announced that Dragon Quest XI, the latest in the 30 year-old RPG series, would be coming to the west in September on PlayStation 4 and Steam. The company said the Switch version of the game would come "much later" and the 3DS version would not be coming to the west at all alongside these and we got the opportunity to ask them why.

In a conversation with Dragon Quest XI producer Hokuto Okamoto at PAX East, he explained that Switch compatibility with the Unreal Engine 4 engine had yet to reach a point where they could start porting the game when they first made the announcement.

"As we were working on Dragon Quest XI on Unreal Engine 4, we were also wanting to work on the Switch version, as well," Okamoto said. "Unfortunately, the engine was not compatible at first, though Nintendo and Epic were working on it together. When the engine revision released making porting to the Switch possible, we started working out our plans for the release."

Video Offers A Quick Look At Bowser's Exposed Back

Despite Bowser one of gaming's most recognizable bad guys, we don't know all that much about him. Where does he get the funds to fund his kidnap attempts and armies? How does he breath fire? Does he have close friends and family he can confide in?

In his latest video, Youtuber Shesez answers another burning question about him: What does he look like without his shell? The latest episode of Boundary Break is a quick one, showcasing how Bowser looks like without his shell in various games. Unlike with Toad, it seems Nintendo has chosen to model Bowser's entire body within the games he's featured in, which isn't always necessary, considering players don't ever see his back.

As a side note, looking at the Super Mario Odyssey portion of the video, I realized he has to be able to take his shell off, since he wears his Tuxedo beneath it. Neat!

Latest Warhammer: Vermintide 2 Update Improves Hero Progression, Eases Difficulty

Warhammer: Vermintide II's 1.0.5 patch is huge, making a number of adjustments to combat, difficulty, character progression, and more, and generally eases the difficulty of the game on multiple fronts.

Perhaps the biggest change players have look forward to is difficulty progression. Before, Veteran would only drop gear up that would up your character's hero power to 200. That cap has increased to 300, easing the ramp between Veteran and the next difficulty, Champion. Also, Champion and Legend (the hardest difficulty) have had their hero power caps removed, letting players get stronger and stronger until they can more easily take on the game's hardest offerings.

Speaking of Champion and Legend, the director, which determines when enemies spawn, will spawn more waves of enemies while you're already fighting baddies less often, leading to fewer situations where you're overwhelmed by one boss enemy while your'e fighting another (it's happened to me before!).
