New Gameplay For The Outer Worlds Premieres At PAX East

Last month, we gave you tons of exclusive content about Obsidian's fabulous-looking RPG The Outer Worlds, including a video that showed off gameplay.

Now, even more gameplay footage is surfacing online, coming from a demo that was presented by Obsidian during PAX East. The video, recorded by YouTuber MrRedRivers, gives a look at tons of combat and an area called Byzantium, the city of the elite. The protagonist travels there to take part of a propaganda film shoot. While voice acting for this section hasn't been implemented yet, the written dialogue still looks pretty amusing.

It also demonstrates a glowing baton that slows down enemies and eventually freezes them, all while strangely rearranging foes' faces such as enlarging or shrinking heads. Obsidian jokes that this was the result of a bug during development, but they kept it in because of its hilarious effects.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 Is Likely Coming To PC

Although Sega hasn't officially announced a port, the ESRB recently rated Yakuza Kiwami 2 "M" for PC, revealing that it is likely soon coming to PC.

Yakuza Kiwami 2, the PlayStation 4 exclusive and remake of the 2006 Yakuza 2, was first released in Japan in 2017 and had a worldwide launch last year.

The ESRB gives the following description to support its decision for an M rating, and gives players an idea of what to expect: “Characters use knives, pipes, and swords during combat and can trigger scripted special attacks (e.g., bashing heads into walls; stabbing enemies with a knife; ripping off nails and teeth with pliers) after successfully building up an attack meter. Combat is accompanied by screams of pain, large blood-splatter effects, and close-up camera angles.”

Magic: The Gathering's War of the Spark Kicks Off With A Cool New Trailer

At PAX East, Wizards of the Coast let loose a new trailer for the upcoming War of the Spark set. It's super cool, so you can check that out below first.

From the cards we've seen so far, also unveiled today, the set looks to have a huge focus on planeswalker cards and cards that interact with planeswalkers. With 36 planeswalkers in the set, some even showing up at the uncommon rarity level, there's going to be lots of crazy interactions from across the planes in this one for sure. Check out more on that and some of the new cards over on the official Magic: The Gathering site. A new keyword ability called amass looks fun and powerful, allowing you to create and buff up Zombie minions.

The first chance to play with the new set is scheduled for Magic Arena on April 25, with prerelease events happening in physical space on the 27th and 28th.

Jackbox Party Pack 6 Arrives This Fall

Jackbox Games recently revealed at PAX East that Jackbox Party Pack 6 is in the works, and that it's releasing later this year.

We don't know how many games are part of the pack yet, but we do know that Trivia Murder Party, the morbidly fun trivia game, is making a return as a sequel. In a blog post, Jackbox Games said it "is the most frequently requested sequel of all the Party Pack games."

Jackbox Games also threw in some hints as to what we can expect from Trivia Murder Party 2, including:

Shirley Curry is 82 years old, has nine grandchildren and - you may never guess it if you met her in real life - but she's also a Skyrim fan who has accumulated a huge following on YouTube.

Curry, also known as 'Skyrim Grandma,' will appear as an NPC in The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda announced. This addition is the result of a fan petition with over 45,000 signatures asking for her to be immortalized into the game.

In Bethesda's recent anniversary video for the Elder Scrolls series, Curry briefly expresses her gratitude to have such an incredible opportunity (at around the 8:40 mark). "This means a lot to me because I would be extremely happy to know that somebody else was playing with my character in a future Elder Scrolls game," she says.
