Friday The 13th Game Permanently Halts All Future Content Due To Lawsuit

about X hours ago from

Friday the 13th: The Game has had a roller coaster experience since its launch, with the title launching to numerous online matchmaking and stat retention issues that forced the developer to apologize and promise to fix it a year ago. Publisher Gun Media showed off the DLC plans for the game alongside assurances that dedicated servers would act as a salve to the often unsteady game.

Unfortunately, it looks like that DLC has been put on hold, likely permanently.

At the center of the issue is a lawsuit between Victor Miller, who wrote the original Friday the 13th in 1979, and representatives for the movie's director, Shaun Cunningham. Both parties disagree about who owns the rights and various clauses and subclauses seem to point in both directions. Cunningham claims Miller was simply operating as work-for-hire and doesn't own the rights to anything in the movie.

Trover Saves The Universe Is A Justin Roiland-Helmed Trip

about X hours ago from

In a significant departure from the doom and gloom of the rest of the conference, Trover Saves The Universe is a game that advises you to not actually play video games while sitting in the bathtub.

Justin Roiland, a showrunner of Rick and Morty and lead of the game, chatters through the relatively normal platforming gameplay. The voicework seems like it'll be the real star here: "I'm a real cool cucumber," Trover announces to no one.

The game, a "sci-fi based thing," will be coming to Playstation 4 and PSVR.

Destiny 2: Forsaken has just gotten a new story trailer at the Sony E3 press conference, and it sets the stakes for the upcoming expansion. Starting off with the death of Cayde-6, the trailer establishes a darker tone and focuses on your quest for revenge against his killer, who looks to possibly the Awoken Queen's brother, Uldren Sov.

Forsaken will be a major mix-up in the Destiny 2 formula, with a focus on making sweeping changes to systems to please longtime players. Things such as new weapon slots, a brand-new game mode, a new location in the Reef and a whole new, darker story will take center stage in the expansion.

Forsaken can be purchased alone or with the new annual pass, which will contain three content drops throughout year two.
