GameInformer News Destiny 2 is a game deeply concerned with investment and progression, and one of the big ways that players stay involved is through the collection of gear. Ever since the announcement of Destiny 2: Forsaken, the community around the game has expressed increasingly vocal concerns about how weapons and armor from the first year of Destiny 2 will work once the new content arrives in September. Unlike many features of the new content, the answer to that issue affects the way people might be playing the game right now. After all, why grind hard for an item right now if it’s going to become obsolete in just a few months?
We asked Steve Cotton, the creative director on Forsaken, what players can expect. “Our goals include reinforcing the hobby for our most hardcore players,” Cotton says. “That means making sure that their favorite gear isn’t left behind. In Destiny 2: Forsaken, players will be able to take all their favorite year one weapons and armor and bring them up to the new power cap. Forsaken is required to obtain new power.”
In following up with Activision and Bungie, we also confirmed that the ability to level up your gear applies to legendary (purple) and exotic (gold) armor and weapons.

The hit arcade game Killer Queen is coming to Switch as Killer Queen Black. The game is designed to be played in teams as insect-like creatures battle to win via a couple of different win conditions. Each team is led by a powerful Queen, and they try to be the first to bring the giant snail towards a goal, or fill their hive with nectar, or execute a triple assassination of the enemy’s Queen. It’s a little complicated.
If you haven’t played it, just know that it’s really cool. Fortunately, more people will get to play the game for themselves. Killer Queen Black launches on Switch on August 7, and will feature wireless, local, and online play.

A traditional Fire Emblem for Switch is still a ways out (arriving Spring 2019), but Nintendo did show some gameplay for the next entry in the series.
The battlefields look more realistic, with the camera displaying 3D models from above for the planning stage, and then zooming into the action to show off a fully rendered war. The game’s trailer also showed locations that you can walk around in and explore and promised three playable characters – Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude.
Fire Emblem Three Houses is coming to Switch in spring of next year.

GameInformer News The popular co-op cooking game is getting a sequel, and it’s coming to Switch.
The game launches August 7 and will include local and online play, more recipes, more kitchens, more characters, and new mechanics like the ability to throw ingredients.
The original Overcooked was ported to the Switch early in the console’s lifespan, but struggled with technical shortcomings. Hopefully, the sequel will be a marked improvement.
