Warner Bros. Responds To Bethesda Westworld Mobile Lawsuit, Calls Claim Baseless

Last week, Bethesda filed suit against Warner Bros. and Behaviour Interactive, developers of Fallout Shelter, over similarities to their new Westworld Mobile game published under Warner Bros. Bethesda alleged that Behaviour was reusing code for Westworld from Fallout Shelter, of which Bethesda owns the copyright.

Bethesda aimed their lawsuit at both Behaviour and Warner Bros. We reached out to the publisher behind games like Shadow of War and the Batman Arkham series and received the following statement:

As one of the world’s leading creators of intellectual property, including the ground-breaking television series Westworld, Warner Bros. has a deep respect for intellectual property rights.  As such, the assertions by Bethesda Softworks that Warner’s Westworld mobile game improperly used source code from Bethesda’s Fallout Shelter are as surprising as they are unsubstantiated.  Warner Bros. has been assured by the game developer, Behaviour Interactive, that Bethesda’s allegations are untrue and that none of Bethesda’s code was used in the Westworld game.  Moreover, contrary to Bethesda’s baseless accusation, Warner Bros. at no time “induced” Behaviour to use the Fallout Shelter code in Westworld.

Amy Hennig No Longer At EA Or On Star Wars Project, Starting Independent Studio

Although we knew last year that the single-player Star Wars game from Visceral would never come to fruition, we didn't know what, if any, was being retooled by EA for their new take on the game. New details from Eurogamer reveal that one major lead – Amy Hennig, perhaps best known for her work on the Uncharted series – is definitively off the project.

Hennig says that while there are no hard feelings with EA, she hasn't worked with them since January. Instead, she's started her own independent studio, and is playing around with several ideas (including VR).

For Star Wars fans, we know the title of Respawn's game that's reportedly releasing next year and not much else.

You might remember Mothergunship when it was announced a little while back. Since then, we listed it as one of the best indie games we played at PAX West and did a deep dive into the game earlier this month. Finally, the developers are ready to tell the world when they can finally get their hands on the game and it's only a few weeks until its release of July 17.

Mothergunship tasks players with taking down an alien invasion by blowing up everything between them and the mothership. Players gain gun parts and customize the weirdest and most powerful guns to blast their way through with their own creative methods of combining parts.

Check out the launch announcement trailer below.

Overwatch's New Champion Is A Hamster

After some teasing, Blizzard has revealed that its new hero is ... a hamster.

The hamster is likely Hammond, an escaped test subject from the Horizon Lunar Colony who is also known as Specimen 8.

We should hopefully know more about hero 28 soon, but until then be satisfied that he rolls with some pretty fearsome machinery.
