Inside Xbox Next Week Begins The Road To E3

Inside Xbox Next Week Begins The Road To E3

It is hard to believe E3 is only two months away at this point. Some might even say we're in extremely hardcore denial about it. Not everyone is closing their eyes and putting their fingers in their ears, though. Microsoft is ready to start talking about their upcoming E3 plans with Inside Xbox next week.

The next livestream, which takes place on April 16, will have gameplay footage of Rage 2, more on the Sea of Thieves anniversary update which we talk about here, first details on the Warhammer Chaosbane beta, and the usual lineup of things such as Game Pass or backwards compatibility announcements. It is also where Microsoft is going to announce their upcoming E3 plans, which likely means a date and time for their annual conference.

Microsoft has taken to relying heavily on E3 as other companies pull away from the show, choosing to make bombastic and noteworthy software announcements there alongside third party partners. Despite having a monthly livestream like Inside Xbox, Microsoft tends to focus on the spectacle of E3 to their benefit. Last year, Phil Spencer touted the power of the cloud as he nodded his head toward the next generation of consoles and it seems very likely we'll see what he's talking about at the show this year.

Destiny 2 Revels In The Fun In This Spring Event

Destiny 2 Revels In The Fun In This Spring Event

For a limited time – April 16 to May 6 – all Destiny 2 players will see the game's central tower has been decked out for spring in the upcoming Revelry event. Flowers are in bloom and the forests are verdant. That Verdant Forest will actually be an area for players to complete quests and bounties during this time and unlock rewards like new armor.

In the Forest you will come up against five bosses while fighting against the clock, but the more rooms you clear leading up to those encounters, the more time you'll have against the bosses.

This seems like more than a new coat of paint, so get in there and have some fun in the sun while you still can. Bungie recently buffed quite a few subclasses, but you can read our review of Destiny 2: Forsaken that our own Matt Miller thoroughly enjoyed.

New Samurai Shodown Trailer Shows Off Nakoruru's Fighting Style

Last month, we played Samurai Shodown on an episode of New Gameplay Today and learned about this game's portrayal of popular series mainstay Nakoruru. Now, SNK has released a new trailer showing her juggling her opponents with flaming tornadoes and gusts of wind. Mamahaha, her pet hawk, also contributes to fights allowing Nakoruru to attack from higher altitudes and evade incoming barrages. For a more in-depth look at her move list and combat mechanics, check out our New Gameplay Today episode.

Samurai Shodown releases on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this summer. There are plans for a Switch version of the game, but a release date has not been confirmed. For even more on Samurai Shodown, read our current issue, which contains a sizable feature all about the franchise revival.

See Pokémon "Audition" In Latest Detective Pikachu Trailer

See Pokémon

Ever since the first trailer of the upcoming Detective Pikachu movie starring Ryan Reynolds, we've been surprisingly optimistic about Pokémon's live-action debut on the big screen. The latest trailer seems to rely less on actual footage from the movie, and more on a gag surrounding the CGI Pokémon "auditioning" for their roles in the movie.

While most fans of the game series will already know the characters shown in this new trailer, this rundown gives the uninitiated or more casual fans a bit of a primer for what we can probably assume are some of the major players in the movie.

You can check out the newest trailer, straight from Ryan Reynolds himself, below.

Specialization Ammo Scarcity Fix Coming To The Division 2 Soon

Specialization Ammo Scarcity Fix Coming To The Division 2 Soon

After The Division 2's Tidal Basin update last week, players noticed something fishy about specialization ammo drops. Once available in abundance, suddenly players felt lucky if they got merely a couple of these on the same mission run. This dramatic change was made all the more evident when you consider the fact that the ammo stock for the demolitionist, survivalist, or sharpshooter weapons doesn't carry over when you log out or join another player's party.

During today's State of the Game stream, Ubisoft said this issue is being resolved quickly and should be corrected by tomorrow or shortly thereafter.

Outside of easy hotfixes like that, Ubisoft plans to address a few other issues with a 2.1 title update in the near future. This patch will fix a bug where players were unable to fast travel to the defunct castle settlement, fix the crafting bench bug that has prevented players from upgrading it, and address the sudden breakout of bugged-out t-pose enemies.

Resident Evil 2 DLC Allows Players To Unlock Everything

Resident Evil 2 DLC Allows Players To Unlock Everything

There is a lot of content in Resident Evil 2 if you want to unlock everything. To get to the game's Hunk or Tofu modes, costumes, or guns, you have to play the game a lot and you have to do it well. That's not necessarily feasible for everyone, especially if you own the game on different platforms because you found you liked performance better on a different one.

Much like the various unlockables in Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition, Capcom is offering a shortcut. You can now pay $4.99 for an All In-Game Rewards Unlock item. This unlocks all the stuff in the game that would otherwise require beating, say, a second run with Claire or Leon or beating the game on Hardcore difficulty. Another way to look at it is that everything the unlock DLC is offering can be earned in the game.

The official store listing shows the unlocks as "Extra 'The 4th Survivor', Extra 'The Tofu Survivor', Costume, ∞ Bonus Weapon, Model, Concept Art." The items have various unlock conditions within the game.

Super Smash Bros. Commercial Leaks Stage Builder Mode

Super Smash Bros. Commercial Leaks Stage Builder Mode

On Nintendo's YouTube channel today, the first-party Mario maker released a new TV commercial showing off Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The commercial focused on play with friends, where a kid unlocks Inkling in his own game and then beats all his friends using the character. You can watch the ad below.

In the first second of the commercial, however, when the kid is grabbing the controller off the TV stand, the TV screen shows a new mode tucked away in the corner: Stage Builder. Also, yes, I could have picked a better thumbnail for the reupload of that video, but this one made me laugh.

Stage Builder has shown up in datamines for a while and has long been expected to be a part of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 3.0 update, which was teased during the last general Nintendo Direct. The mode debuted in Brawl on the Wii and was also present in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, but apparently didn't make launch for the Switch game. It allows players to create and play on custom stages and make your friends suffer through them, too. You can watch us play with it in the video below.

Batman's Arkham Asylum Design Is Back As A Black & White Statue

It's hard to believe it has been ten years since Batman: Arkham Asylum flipped superhero games on their head. Even today, people argue about which game in the series is their favorite (I'm personally on team Asylum), speaking to the overall quality of all of Rocksteady's Batman series. Now you can celebrate your love for the series with a new black & white statue showing the Arkham series design.

The statues is based off an Arkham City design from a few years ago, but tweaks the design to better match the stylish box art of Arkham City itself.
