God of War is one of 2018's best received games, with people praising the game's portrayal of a father-son relationship between the stoic and pained Kratos and his growing son. A novelization of that story isn't anything unexpected, but the choice of J.M. Barlog, God of War director Cory Barlog's father, is definitely appropriate.
Really proud of this collaboration with my pops @JMBARLOG . He did some amazing work with the book.❤️

With the first Overwatch League championship having been decided, fans are now looking toward the next set of competitions from the popular esport. Blizzard is looking to expand the next Overwatch League games beyond the set of 12 teams, but those expansion slots are looking pretty costly.
ESPN reported a few days ago about the rumor of Atlanta-based media conglomerate Cox Media buying one of those expansion slots to field an Atlanta team for the Overwatch League. Within the story, ESPN mentions that expansions slots are going for $30 to $60 million, a bit of an increase from the $20 million for the first 12 slots.
"The specific price depends on the number of bidders, Overwatch player density and general population of each city, according to sources," ESPN wrote.

Donut County, the puzzle game from developer Ben Esposito, has gotten a release date. The hole-based game will release on PlayStation 4, PC, and iOS on August 28.
Donut County gives you the power of holes to gradually expand and suck up an entire town. The game is very Katamari Damacy-like by having players start with smaller objects and get bigger to end up taking the entire town to the cavernous depths below.
We played the game at Sony's PSX show last year and really liked it. You can check out a release date trailer for the game below.

Riot Games has announced that they're experimenting with a new mode, called Nexus Blitz, for their ultra-popular MOBA League of Legends. Nexus Blitz is a faster experience for players looking to jump in for a short bit of League without committing to a longer match.
"In Nexus Blitz, each team consists of a duo jungle in close proximity to three laners," Riot said in a blog post introducing the mode. "The compact map makes for constant action, and a roulette of new, unexpected events amplifies the frenzy even more. Events are map-wide, mayhem-inducing scenarios that kick off every few minutes, granting powerful rewards to the team that wins. Some events draw from familiar game experiences that many players will instantly get, and others are more unexpected. Both kinds should make for unpredictable and memorable plays and fights: examples include King of the Hill, Push the Payload, the closing circle of death from Battle Royale games, and so on."
Winning events gets your team buffs, like cannons for your base or massive shields for your entire team. If they take the mode past the experimental phase, they'll start taking suggestions on the event system to better tune it for balance and fun.

At the end of the most recent quarter, Sony released financial results for the PlayStation division, including how many consoles they have shipped out for the PlayStation 4. Their current flagship console has shipped 83 million consoles, which means the PS4 has done in less than five years what took the PS4 seven to do.
While Sony hasn't revealed actual sell-through numbers for the console since last the end of 2017, which put the PS4 at about 70 million sold. Shipping numbers are usually proportional, but not necessarily exact, with sales, so we can make educated guesses based on the new 83 million number.
In the last quarter since the financial year started in April, Sony shipped three million PS4 consoles and expects to ship a total of 17 million before the end of the financial year next March. That means Sony is expecting the PS4 to do exceptionally well in the next few quarters, likely on the back of games like Red Dead Redemption II and Spider-Man.
