Forza Horizon 4 Adds Halo Crossover Mission Using The Warthog

In the latest monthly developer diary for the upcoming Forza Horizon 4, developer PlayGround Games introduced a crossover with Microsoft's preeminent shooter franchise for the open-world racing game. Who says Mario gets to be the only mascot that takes to the road?

While simply adding the Warthog, Halo's most famous utility vehicle, would have probably satiated fans, PlayGround really went above and beyond with the massive amount of Halo content added.

The Halo-themed skybox sits above you while Cortana chats your ear off about the banshees pursuing you and flying around while you drive. The race, much like the races against planes and boats from the Forza Horizon game, pits your Warthog against a Pelican gunship.

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Releasing In January With Special Edition

Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition has gotten a pretty definitive release date of January 11 of next year. That puts the new release slightly over ten years after the game's original release on the Xbox 360 in 2008.

For the definitive edition of the game, Bandai Namco is using the PlayStation 3 release, which never left Japan, as the basis for the HD remaster. This means that it includes two new characters over the original Xbox 360 version. There also appears to be a special edition in the works for fans, which at very least seems to include a steelbook bearing the face of Yuri's dog Repede.

Need a little #MondayMotivation? This should brighten up your day: Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition launches on January 11th 2019 on PS4, XB1, PC Digital and Switch! Here’s a glimpse of a very special edition you’ll be able to lay your paws on. Stay tuned for more! pic.twitter.com/4unsmhtaII

Dead Or Alive 6 Launches In February, Trailer Confirms Returning Characters And Pre-Order Bonuses

Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have announced today that their newest fighting game, Dead or Alive 6, will be releasing on February 15. A new trailer released to announce the date shows some returning characters as scenes from the game's story mode, as well.

The trailer shows returning characters Ayane, Marie Rose, and Honoka, who will be joining the game's base roster. Nyotengu and Phase 4 will be DLC, with the former being a pre-order bonus and the latter being in the game's special edition. It is unknown if they will be added to the game as separate purchases, as well.

The trailer also shows the game's story mode, which looks to be fairly similar to Dead or Alive 5's, which the director commented to us was "very hard to understand," so it seems likely it will undergo some structural changes.

Gamecube Action RPG Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Coming To PS4 And Switch

Square Enix has revealed today that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, a four-player co-op action RPG that originally released on the Nintendo Gamecube in 2004, will be coming to the PlayStation 4 and Switch with online play in 2019. You can see the teaser trailer below, which shows the briefest bit of gameplay for the re-release.

The trailer shows players joining together from around the world, confirming that online play will be in the remastered version. That solves a major criticism of the game from its release over a decade ago, where co-op required multiple Gameboy Advance consoles and link cables extending to the Gamecube to play. The setup was cumbersome and expensive and limited the game's reach.

Space Channel 5 VR Coming To PSVR

At Sony's pre-Tokyo Game Show event last night, Sega announced that the previously announced Space Channel 5 VR that was hurtling toward a PC headset near you is also coming to PlayStation VR. You can check out a trailer for the game below.

The VR version has been available in Japanese arcades for over a year now, with a port announced for Oculus and Vive in Japan a few months back. Now the VR experience of taking space journalist Ulala through multiple levels where she dances to a rhythm to defeat invading aliens is coming to PlayStation VR, as well.

Space Channel 5 was one of the Dreamcast's most well-known original games and eventually got ported to the PlayStation 2 along with its sequel.

Square Enix Reveals New RPG Project Prelude From Former Tales Producer

Square Enix has announced a new console RPG titled Project Prelude ahead of the Tokyo Games Show. While details are sparse, Square did release a teaser trailer giving us a hint of the tone and art style for the new game.

The game is being developed by Project Istolla, a new studio established under Square Enix lead by former Tales producer Hideo Baba. Baba lead the Tales studio at Bandai Namco until 2015's Tales of Zestiria, at which point he left for a new role at Square Enix. There is definitely some degree of 3D Tales in the air of Project Prelude, but the teaser trailer does not indicate how the new title will actually play.

Project Prelude is confirmed for at least PlayStation 4, but it is unknown if it will also come to other platforms.

SNK Announces New Samurai Shodown Game

SNK has announced and released a teaser for a new game in their Samurai Shodown series. The short teaser begins with some story setup and then shows gameplay, complete with cinematic clashes, toward the second half. You can check out the teaser below.

Much like King of Fighters XIV and the recently-released SNK Heroines, SNK has veered away from the sprite-based fighter in favor of 3D models once again. While this isn't the first time Samurai Shodown has gone 3D, with games like Samurai Shodown 64, this time it appears to be locked to a 2D plane with 3D graphics.

The trailer shows series veterans Haohmaru, Nakoruru, Galford, and more. Based on KOFXIV's roster, it's expected to be fairly big. While no consoles were announce, PlayStation 4 is a likely bet. The game looking appreciably better than SNK Heroines might mean Switch is off the table.

Pokémon Go Event Adds Mewtwo To Regular Raids, Gen-1 Regionals To 7 KM Eggs

Over the past few months, Niantic has challenged players to complete global objectives during the summer to unlock special days focused on the legendary birds of Gen 1. With the third and final day in the rear-view mirror, Niantic announced a new event to celebrate its community greatly surpassing those aforementioned objectives. The Ultra Bonus Event not only brings the three legendary birds back to raids for a limited time, but puts Mewtwo into regular raids for the first time and gives players the chance to hatch regional Pokémon like Kangaskhan and Mr. Mime without traveling or trading.

You can see the full breakdown of the Ultra Bonus Event below.

This marks the first time that Mewtwo has appeared outside of the controversial, invitation-only EX raid battles. It's also the first time many players will have the chance to add the regional Pokémon to their Pokédex. For more on Pokémon Go, check out our updated guide for newcomers and veterans alike.
