Weekend Warrior – This Town Ain’t Big Enough For The Both Of Us

The Game Informer editors are trying to play a ton of games before Red Dead Redemption II releases next Friday. The nostalgia bug is going around, and Dark Souls: Remastered on Switch is on a lot of people’s minds. We're all definitely still making time to create new gaming memories, though. Return of the Obra Dinn, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Soulcalibur VI, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and Spider-Man also appear on this weekend’s must-play list.

Let us know what you're doing this weekend in the comments below!

Brian Shea (@BrianPShea) – I’m continuing to push through Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which I’m still loving. I feel bad, because I’ve been pouring all my time into Odyssey, which means I’ve neglected Forza Horizon 4. Maybe this weekend I’ll be able to carve some time out to play that and Soulcalibur VI, but I’ve also been getting the itch to start a replay of Breath of the Wild. Oh no.

Insomniac Caves On Puddlegate, Admits Spider-Man Needs More Puddles

While earlier we found out that today's Spider-Man update includes a new game+ mode and a new difficulty, it also includes some features that were kept out of the update notes. The new update includes some photo mode improvements, like the ability to access photo mode quick, to rotate stickers, and even a few new stickers themselves.

The game's lead UI artist, Gil Doron, showed off the new change in a tweet.

We have a new patch today! Not only do we have NG+, but we added a bunch of stuff in Photo Mode, including: stickers
frames
rotation for stickers
shortcut to Photo Mode with the D-Pad...
...and I fixed this for you :) pic.twitter.com/SW7Jxrxab6

Funimation And Crunchyroll Part Ways On Providing Anime

Funimation And Crunchyroll Part Ways On Providing Anime

Anime localization company FUNimation is separating from third-party streaming service Crunchyroll due to corporate mergers that have taken place since the two companies made their original deals years ago. The separation means a number of high profile series are going to be disappearing for Crunchyroll subscribers in favor of FUNimation's own service.

The breakdown occurred after AT&T finalized their acquisition of WarnerMedia earlier this year. Crunchyroll, which was joint-operated by AT&T and another company, was thus rolled into WarnerMedia as part of the acquisition. FUNimation, which Sony owns a 95% stake in as of early 2017, operates as a direct competitor to Warner. As such, FUNimation can no longer work with Crunchyroll.

While the full list of what is being removed from Crunchyroll and moved to FUNimation's service has not been released, the anime localization company is responsible for a lot of Crunchyroll's biggest hits: One Piece, My Hero Academia, Your Name, Attack On Titan, and others. Not all of these will be disappearing immediately, but the tree branch they're hanging onto gets progressively thinner as time goes on.

Team Disqualified From Counter-Strike Tournament After Player Was Caught Cheating During The Tournament

Team Disqualified From Counter-Strike Tournament After Player Was Caught Cheating During The Tournament

It's an unfortunate reality that sometimes people are going to cheat at competitive things. As a general rule, though, you don't want to cheat so blatantly that people can immediately notice and see you actively delete the cheating program. That rule got tested at the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive eXTREMELAND ZOWIE Asia tournament in Shanghai today when a player got his entire team booted from the tournament for cheating.

When OpTic India was facing off against Vietnamese team Revolution, the rival team and fans watching began to notice something was amiss. After an official accusation of cheating was lodged, the tournament organizers called for a long break where the competitors were asked to not touch their computers while the TOs investigated. When OpTic India's Nikhil “forsaken” Kumawat kept using his PC and refused to let administrators look at it, having to be physically stopped from deleting files, the jig was more or less up.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Cancels PC Event Due To Critical Error

Bluehole and PUBG Corp. have announced that this week's PC event has been cancelled due to a "critical error," though they did not specify beyond that.

This week's event mode, Platoon, was a 50 vs. 50 battle in 10-man squads, will not return next week, either. In a tweet, the support account simply said it would return at a later date.

PC Players: Unfortunately, this week's Event Mode has been cancelled due to a critical error.
We apologize for any frustration or disappointment this has caused. Event Mode: Platoon will not be returning next week, but will return at a later date.
