Treyarch Details Lessons Learned From Black Ops 4 Multiplayer Beta

Following a couple weekends of multiplayer beta tests, those anticipating the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 now have a couple months to wait before release. While Black Ops 4 players still have the Blackout beta to look forward to starting September 10, the competitive multiplayer experience is now volleyed back to Treyarch to make tweaks based on lessons learned during the beta tests.

The Black Ops 4 developer took to Reddit today to detail several of the tweaks it is making based on the beta feedback.

In addition to rewarding a permanent unlock token to all players who reached level 34 in the beta, Treyarch listed a host of changes it is making. From changes to the way Fog of War works in the minimap and spawning during certain modes to balancing changes for body armor and gear, Treyarch went into great depth about the changes it is making and why. Treyarch also confirmed it is adding the ability to see the loadout of the person who killed you during the Killcam, something it wanted to put in the beta but couldn't get ready in time.

Fox21 Obtains Rights To Vampyr For Television Series

Fox21 Obtains Rights To Vampyr For Television Series

When it released in June, Vampyr was a game that was more intriguing in theory than in execution thanks to frustrating mechanics and technical issues. Telling the story of a recent vampire convert struggling to balance his lingering human desires with those of his vampiric state, Vampyr explored interesting ideas that could potentially make for compelling situations. That story looks to be further developed outside of games, as Fox21 Studios has acquired the rights to create a television series based on the Dontnod property.

The license allows Wonderland Sound & Vision and DJ2 Entertainment to develop the action RPG into a TV series. In a press release, Dontnod CEO Oskar Guilbert said, "This is a new and exciting way for fans of the game, as well as the uninitiated, to enter and engage with VAMPYR’S rich, deep story."

Vampyr launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on June 5. For more on the game, check out Joe Juba's review here.

Far Cry 5 Adds Dead Living Zombies Later This Month

Far Cry 5 Adds Dead Living Zombies Later This Month

Far Cry 5 told a story about a small, fictional county in Montana struggling to escape the clutches of a ruthless cult. The downloadable content has taken players as far from Hope County, Montana as possible, with the first expansion transporting players to the Vietnam War and the second teleporting them to Mars. With the third post-launch release, Ubisoft is going just as absurd as Lost on Mars with an over-the-top zombie adventure called Dead Living Zombies.

This expansion once again teams players up with director Guy Marvel. Marvel is pitching a new zombie series, and it's up to you to tackle the seven scenarios he wants to film. The maps are all built using the in-game Far Cry Arcade Editor and pit players against hordes of zombies across settings like rooftops, farms, and military bases.

Once you complete each mission, you unlock Score Attack for that stage, enabling you to earn new weapons and equipment to bring back to the main game. In addition to this DLC, all players will receive a free title update that adds tools and objects for the Far Cry Arcade Editor.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy Delayed To November

Activision and Toys for Bob have announced that Spyro Reignited Trilogy, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One remakes of the first three Spyro games, are being delayed until November 13.

The news comes from a blog post by developer Toys for Bob's co-head Paul Yan. In the post, Yan stresses this is for the game's overall quality.

"I really hoped that you would be rescuing dragons and scorching Rhynocs sooner, but the Trilogy needs more love and care," Yan writes. "In November when you’re exploring the Dragon Realms, Avalar, and the Forgotten Worlds, we know you’ll agree the extra time was worth the wait."
