Switch's Yoshi Title Appears To Be Named Yoshi's Crafted World

At the Switch's first E3 in 2017, Nintendo revealed a co-op Yoshi game for the system in a similar style to the Wii U's Yoshi's Wooly World. The new game was decidedly quite early and did not have a title and was simply referred to as "Yoshi" with a 2018 date.

While a Nintendo Direct was set to air today, Nintendo delayed it late last night due to natural disasters affecting Japan this week resulting in ongoing fatalities. The decision was seemingly cut quite close and some information meant to go live after the Direct aired was not properly removed in time. In this instance, Nintendo's website featured a title listing for "Yoshi's Crafted World." We have confirmed the listing ourselves.

The title makes sense as the first, and thus far only, footage of the game showed Yoshi in an environment of cardboard and other sorts of papercraft versus the thread- and plush-themed Wooly World.

THQ Acquires The Kingdoms Of Amalur Property

THQ has announced that it has picked up the rights to Kingdoms of Amalur, which was the property created by Curt Schilling's now-defunct 38 Studios.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning came out in 2012, and was decent, but the fate of the developer itself was more infamous. 38 Studios filed for bankruptcy months after the game came out, and the studio ran afoul of the state of Rhode Island on a defaulted loan. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) even got involved, going after the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation (formerly the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation) and loan underwriter Wells Fargo for securities fraud.

In today's announced deal, THQ has also picked up Project Copernicus, an unreleased MMORPG in the game's world.

Today's Nintendo Direct Has Been Delayed Due To Earthquake In Japan

On social media tonight, Nintendo posted an update about the September 6 Nintendo Direct. The company has decided to delay the Direct in light of the earthquake in Hokkaido that has caused significant landslides and at least two known fatalities. The chaos caused by the typhoon is being widely covered in Japanese media.

Due to the powerful earthquake in Hokkaido, Japan, we have decided to delay this week’s planned Nintendo Direct. We will provide a new time and date in the near future. Thank you for your understanding. pic.twitter.com/IITgJFtzub

The tweet says a future time and date will be announced soon, but does not give a specific timetable. It could be this week or could be a month from now, only Nintendo really knows. The Direct was announced yesterday morning, which is fairly short notice, but relatively common for Nintendo's events.

505 Games To Publish Next Game From Far Cry 4 Director

Alex Hutchinson left Ubisoft Montreal last year after working on both Far Cry 4 and the Assassin's Creed franchise. Now Hutchinson has helped form a new development house called Typhoon Studios along with former Warner Bros. Montreal developers Yassine Riahi and Reid Schneider.

The team hasn't announced its next project yet, but given its pedigree, we're curious to see what they turn out.
