Captain Marvel Takes To The Skies In First Trailer

Captain Marvel was teased in the final moments of Avengers: Infinity War. After witnessing a world-ending event, Nick Fury activated a beacon set within a pager that looked like it was preserved in a time capsule from the 1980s. Captain Marvel's logo appears on the screen. If she's an ally of S.H.I.E.L.D., and has been around for decades, where has she been all of this time? We're about to find out when her standalone film, Captain Marvel, hits theaters on March 8, 2019.

You can take your first look at this period piece that details Captain Marvel's origin story. The trailer focuses heavily on her human life as Carol Danvers (played by Brie Larson), and teases all is not as it seems. Danvers apparently has a different life tied to the Kree empire. In a shot we see her on the Kree homeworld of Hala, and in her Kree Starforce uniform. The Skrulls and Ronan the Accuser are also teased.

Marvel put together a hell of a trailer to introduce this powerful character into Marvel's Cinematic Universe. This film can't come soon enough. The wait for the Avengers: Infinity War sequel is too long. We need a Marvel fix, stat!

Capcom Terminates Dead Rising 4 Developer's Projects

Capcom has officially announced that it is terminating the projects of Capcom Vancouver, the internal studio which has handled the Dead Rising franchise since Dead Rising 2 in 2010.

Earlier this year there were "significant" layoffs at Capcom Vancouver, with mobile title Puzzle Fighter closed down so that the studio could concentrate on a Dead Rising project.

Capcom has not announced anything pertaining to Dead Rising's future or if Capcom Vancouver itself is closed. The official press release on the matter (click the source link below) only states it's "reviewing the allocation of its development resources..."

Take-Two CEO Thinks Cross-Platform Play Is Inevitable

At a presentation at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia Conference last week, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said that he believed cross-platform play is an inevitability, especially when it comes to PC.

"The closed system walls are coming down," he told the audience. Zelnick is taking a multi-track mentality to the idea, thinking that cross-platform involves being primarily device agnostic. "Microsoft is basically already there," referring to the platform holder's stated policy to put games on both Xbox One and PC.

The next step, Zelnick thinks, will be streaming to different devices.

First Images Of Jim Carrey As Dr. Eggman In Sonic The Hedgehog Movie

First Images Of Jim Carrey As Dr. Eggman In Sonic The Hedgehog Movie

The Sonic the Hedgehog movie has been a delight to follow so far, through casting notices and on-set photos, but now we get our first look at comedian Jim Carey's appearance as Sonic's rival, Dr. Robotnik/Eggman (it's not known yet which name the movie is going with).

These on-set pictures taken where the movie is filming near Vancouver, Canada show Jim Carrey in a paunchy outfit with a full beard, resembling Santa Claus more than the traditional look of Sonic's villain. Perhaps it's just his initial look until a fateful accident burns off his beard, forces him to wear reflective sunglasses, and turns him into the mad scientist we all know and love. Thanks to Twitter account @YVRshoots for the shots.

Sea of Thieves: Forsaken Shores DLC Delayed One Week

Sea of Thieves: Forsaken Shores DLC Delayed One Week

Sea of Thieves' Forsaken Shores DLC, not to be at all confused with Destiny 2's Forsaken DLC, has been delayed a week. Originally intended to come out day after tomorrow on September 19, you can now expect it eight days later on September 28. Maybe there because there's too much Forsaken confusion.

The actual reason, and not my dumb reason, is that the team is determined not to have nasty bugs in the final release. In a post talking about the delay, producer Joe Neate said a memory leak has been causing problems with Forsaken Shores.

"From our investigations this is a complex issue that we are working through solving, but as such we do not feel in a position to release Forsaken Shores to our players with confidence this week," Neate says. "Our goal this week is to resolve the memory issue and get enough Pioneer coverage so that we are confident we have resolved the issue, prior to releasing to all of our players."
