Spider-Man PS4's Story Continues Today In Spider-Geddon Comic With New Villain

Spider-Geddon, a giant comic crossover event of multiple Spider-Mans (Spider-Men?), was announced earlier this year with the surprising inclusion of the new universe of Marvel's Spider-Man, the now-recently released PlayStation 4 game. The inclusion of the White Spider Spider-Man makes Spider-Geddon the first and thus far only continuation of the story from the video game.

The first issue, appropriately titled Spider-Geddon #0, is written by longtime Spider-Writer Christos Gage, who was on the writing team for the game. In an interview with Marvel, Gage describes a somewhat shell-shocked Spidey meeting parallel universe versions of the enemies he just faced in the game and dealing with the alternate versions. If you've played the game already, you know why this might mess Peter up a bit.

In addition, Gage explains that the five-part comic arc will introduce a new villain to the Insomniac spider-verse named Tarantula. There's no details yet, but Gage said the team helped him create and approve the new character for the series.

The Red Dead Redemption II PS4 Pro bundle was announced the other day, giving people an opportunity to do what they do best and scrutinize the box for details. RockstarIntel was able to do exactly that and mined out details from the console box to figure out what to expect from Rockstar's upcoming western.

The bundle says that Red Dead Redemption II requires a minimum install size of 105 GB. This puts it ahead of the previous PlayStation 4 record holder, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, which stood at 101 GB. Rockstar's last PS4 game, Grand Theft Auto 4, came in at 65 GB.

While PlayStation 4-exclusive content had already been announced, the console box clarifies that "online content" will stay exclusive to the PS4 for 30 days before going to Xbox One. It is unknown if this is the only content for PlayStation 4 or if there is completely exclusive content and timed exclusive content.

GLAAD Introduces Outstanding Video Game Award

The GLAAD Media Awards are awards designed to shine the spotlight on media for "their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer community, and the issues that affect their lives." The awards have been running for 29 years and, for their upcoming 30th year, will be recognizing video games for the first time ever.

The Outstanding Video Game Award is introduced this year for video games with outstanding LGBTQ-inclusive content. While the category has just been introduced and nomination suggestions are still being solicited, GLAAD already has an idea of what they're looking for: "[Outstanding Video Game] Award is given for an interactive experience that includes authentic and impactful LGBTQ characters or storylines. Judging will take into consideration the degree to which the LGBTQ-inclusive content is effectively woven into gameplay, including player agency and the world itself."
