Until You Fall's First Trailer Highlights The Potential Of VR Swordfights

I Expect You to Die gave players a chance to work through a series of spy-themed escape rooms, and was an early standout in contemporary VR. Developer Schell Games is back with a new virtual-reality experience, which puts more of an emphasis on action and heroism. Until You Fall lets players inhabit a mysterious warrior who has to take on equally mysterious enemies. Don't dwell on those mysteries for too long, though, or you'll likely end up with a face-full of sword.

Players can choose from a variety of different melee weapons, including swords, daggers, and axes. Each one has special abilities tied to it, which are unleashed in unique super attacks. An axe might grant its wielder with the ability to crunch through enemies with the strength of multiple warriors, or a dagger can fire off a magic missile to attack enemies who underestimate the weapon's reach. Take a look at the new trailer below to the the game in action.

Until You Fall is coming out this year on Oculus Rift and HTC Vive devices.

New Vampire: The Masquerade RPG Being Developed By The Council Developers

While we wait to see more of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 from Hardsuit and Paradox Interactive, French publisher Bigben has revealed they are also working on a Vampire: The Masquerade game, this one developed by the team behind the episodic adventure game The Council, Big Bad Wolf.

Billed as a "narrative RPG," this new, still-untitled game set in the Masquerade universe is inspired by "the rules of the tabletop RPG," which used the "Storyteller System" that underpins several of the RPGs developed by Masquerade creator White Wolf. Beyond that, however, the publisher didn't announce too many details, just that we'll learn more about the project at Gamescom.

In the meantime, you can learn more about Hardsuit's upcoming take on the series, and read our review of The Council.

WWE 2K Dev Starting New Wrestling IP

WWE 2K series developer Yuke's is the undisputed champion of pro wrestling titles at the moment, but that's largely because it has no competition in the ring. The company is aware this isn't always a good spot to be in, so it's taking matters into its own hands by creating a new wrestling IP through a new internal development team.

"I think having no competitor isn’t healthy at all,” Hiromi Furuta, Yuke's senior vice president, told VGC. “When we had competitors in the wrestling space, we were determined not to lose and that was a great motivator for creating something great."

What shape this new wrestling title will take is up in the air at the moment, with Furuta saying the game is in its early stages, with several elements still to be decided.

Beyond Medusa’s Gate Launches At Locations Across North America

Ubisoft has been experimenting with the burgeoning location-based VR scene, where players visit a dedicated site to play through VR-focused experiences. 2018 saw the release of Escape the Lost Pyramid, which drew on the Assassin’s Creed setting of Ancient Egypt for an escape room-style adventure. On the heels of that, Beyond Medusa’s Gate offers a new challenge set in a version of Ancient Greece that players first visited in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

In the game, two to four players cooperate to solve puzzles, climb objects, shoot arrows, and engage in a variety of other tasks, all in an effort to escape from a room-scale VR space.

If you want to try out Beyond Medusa’s Gate, you’ll need to track down one of the 100 locations in North America and Europe where the experience has launched today.  Ubisoft has put together a map of locations that feature the new game. Anyone up for a road trip?
