Will Ferrel is holding a contest for a winner to play some with video games with him, and it's all in the interest of raising money for charity.
To be part of Will Ferrel’s Super Mega Blast Max Charity Gaming Extravaganza, taking place in San Francisco on October 26, all you need to do is donate a minimum of $10 to this IndieGoGo campaign. As long as the campaign raises at least $375,000, Will Ferrel will live stream a gaming event on Twitch that two lucky donators will be able to attend – all expenses paid. Winners will also get a chance to tour Twitch's offices, meet other special guests including professional gamers, take some photographs with Ferrel, and of course play video games with him live on Twitch.
You can find more information about the contest/fundraising even by heading here. As Ferrel says in the video below, ”I know the popular perception of gamers is that we are all extremely motivated, highly philanthropic, and impossible good looking. Let’s not alter people’s perception of us.” You can head here to donate.

League of Legend's latest featured game mode, Ascension, has a new trailer today alongside some gameplay details. In Ascension, players will work together to take down Ancient Ascendant Xerath in the center of the map to acquire tremendous power.
Players that take down Xerath will receive bonus health, infinite mana, cooldown reduction, AD and AP, and armor/magic penetration, In short, the right character with the ascended buff can probably cut through an entire team. To prevent things from getting completely out of control and ensuring that the match doesn't end with one ascension, healing and regeneration effects only work at 50% on the ascended, and the enemy has complete vision of the player at all times.
Players can earn rewards exclusive to the new game mode by participating, including new Shurima icons. The most sought after icon will come only from completing the Perfect Ascension challenge, where your team must win the match, earn the ascension buff at least once, and never allow the opponent to claim it.

GameInformer News Activision likes to go big on its franchises, and it looks like Destiny is set to join the company's elite ranks alongside Call of Duty. Activision says that Destiny has sold more than $500 million worldwide to stores.
While revenue to stores and through bundles isn't as impressive as the amount actually sold through to consumers, there's no doubt that Destiny is big business for Activision. Eric Hirshberg, Activision CEO, says the game is "the highest-selling day one digital console release in history." Hirshberg didn't cite specific numbers, but if this is correct it certainly indicates that the game and the franchise has a very bright future.
The $500 million figure is also relevant because it's what Activision has said Destiny would cost factoring in marketing, packaging, royalties, and other costs.
