Xbox One Gets A Price Drop Across The Pond

Microsoft has announced a price drop for the Xbox One in the UK. The new £329.99 price tag drops the console under the PlayStation 4’s selling price of £349.99.

Microsoft says that the price drop is only for the UK right now (the price with a straight conversion to US Dollars is still about $30 more than an Xbox One with Kinect). The console originally launched at £429.99 in the UK, before seeing a price drop to £349.99 in February.

The £329.99 offering does not include Kinect, nor is bundled with any games. Microsoft tells Joystiq that there are no plans to drop the price in North America.

Blizzard Cancels Long In-Development MMO ‘Titan’

World of Warcraft developer Blizzard has confirmed that it has ceased development on the never-quite-announced MMO codenamed “Titan.” The studio says the decision was “excruciating,” but that it made the decision after over four years of development in part to protect its relationship with its player base.

Speaking with Polygon, Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime and senior vice president of story and franchise development Chris Metzen discussed the development process and the decision to pull the plug on the project even after rebooting it last year.

At Gamescom, Blizzard told us that it is working on World of Warcraft 2. However, in discussion with Polygon, Morhaime says that he hopes to support World of Warcraft 1 in perpetuity and that the company isn’t spending its time on another MMO right now.

Goat Simulator Selling Absurdly Well On iOS, Android

After being on sale for less than a week, Coffee Stained Studios' ridiculous goat simulation game has hit a major sales milestone.

The developer has announced on its blog that Goat Simulator has already sold more than 100,000 copies on iOS and Android. With a $4.99 price tag on both systems, that's an extra half million dollars that the quirky goat sim has made the small indie studio.

Coffee Stained Studios says that while its future plans are still up in the air, it is currently focused on squashing any bugs that cause the game to crash (as with the PC version, gameplay bugs will not be addressed, and are considered part of the experience). The developer also says that it's working on Patch 1.2 for the PC version, and that it "will be the biggest and most awesome expansion yet."

Steam Introduces Improved Discoverability (So You Can Find More Games To Buy)

Steam has announced a new discoverability engine that will tap the community to improve how people find games. There’s a new homepage that is the start of a way to better find one of Steam’s 3,700 games.

The new Steam homepage offers personalized recommendations that are pulled from your gameplay as well as curators you follow. This part of the storefront can be customized, so if you aren’t into early access, don’t need to see DLC up front, or just want to hide things you already own, you can do that.

There is also a new list called the “discovery queue” that is similar to a Pandora music list. You can add games to your wish list or, if you never want to see them again, mark them as “not interested.”
