LoadingReadyRun Video Pokes Fun At Destiny’s Silliest Moments

When playing Destiny do you ever stop and think, “hey, some of this stuff is pretty silly,”? If so, you might enjoy this short video from LoadingReadyRun that satirizes some of Destiny’s goofiest moments. It hits on everything from the game’s story, to its exploits, and especially that gosh darn Cryptarch, then wraps it all up in a colorful 8-bit artstyle.

Most of us here at Game Informer really enjoy Destiny, but we can't deny that some of its parts are a little ridiculous. Watch the video and see what we mean for yourself!

Gamer's Rhapsody Is A New Midwestern Game Convention

about X hours ago from

Video game conventions are a rare beast in the midwest. Here in Minnesota we see the occasional comic-con or anime convention, but rarely a game convention that brings fans together to celebrate the stories, characters, art, and music they love. Gamer's Rhapsody is coming to the Twin Cities next month with the aim to bring people together and bask in the warm glow of shared enthusiasm while staving off the encroaching winter.

Spanning the weekend of November 15 and 16, the first-year convention is designed to be a place for fans, artists, musicians, and developers to come together and share their mutual love for the medium. There will be panel discussing everything from the classical roots of video games to a "name that tune" contest. Gamer's Rhapsody will also have places for musicians to come together and jam or aspiring games artists an developers to show off their stuff to one another. Attendees will also be able to play some of the local indie games being brewed up here in Minnesota as well.

Saturday evening will feature a live concert aimed towards fans of video game music. Artists like Fez composer Disasterpiece, Shovel Knight composer Jake "virt" Kaufman, Nerd Enhanced Sound, and Dragon Book Fantasy II composer Dale North (formerly of Destructoid) will be putting on the show.

Garruk’s Revenge DLC Brings Fan-Favorite Cards to Magic 2015

about X hours ago from

Magic 2015 – Duels of the Planeswalkers (our review) pitted players against the hulking planeswalker Garruk Wildspeaker when it came out in July, but Wizards of the Coast’s new expansion for the virtual card game takes a look at Garruk's perspective. The Garruk’s Revenge DLC lets players assume the role of the titular hunter as he brings the dish best served cold upon his foes this November.

Garruk’s Revenge introduces fan-favorite cards from the Alara block (the Shards of Alara, Conflux, and Alara Reborn expansion sets) to Magic 2015. Players will earn these cards as they defeat new enemies in the expansion’s four new campaign levels, as well as its expanded explore level.

The expansion will also make all cards from Magic 2015, the Hunt Bigger Game campaign, and Garruk’s Revenge attainable entirely through gameplay. Previously certain cards were available only through Premium Boosters that cost $1.99 each. Now, players who have finished Magic 2015’s initial five chapters can earn these cards in Battle Boosters, which they can get by winning multiplayer matches.

Hearthstone In The Cards For Android Tablets In 2014, Phone Versions In Early 2015

If you’re an Android tablet user who has been waiting for Hearthstone, you’ll be able to play soon. Blizzard confirms that the popular digital collectible card game is coming to Android in 2014.

Unfortunately, the iPhone and Android phone versions won’t be along before the end of this year. You’ll be able to play on those devices some time in early 2015.

“It’s very important to us that the phone experience for Hearthstone is just as accessible as the tablet and PC versions,” the Hearthstone team writes. “One of the biggest challenges with that is revamping the user interface so it feels intuitive and offers the same quality Hearthstone experience, but this time from the palm of your hand.”

Civilization: Beyond Earth Coming To Mac, Linux This Holiday

We have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that Civilization: Beyond Earth is coming to Mac and Linux. The bad news is that it won’t be this week alongside the PC release.

Aspyr Media, which has handled the ports of a number of recent 2K titles, is bringing Beyond Earth to Mac and Linux this holiday. The title will be playable cross-platform, so you’ll be able to engage in multiplayer matches with your friends on PC. It will also be eligible for Steamplay once Beyond Earth is on Mac and Linux, so if you purchase on PC, you'll be able to continue playing on one of the other two without purchasing another copy.

The feature set will be identical, and pre-orders (with the Exoplanets Map pack) are available on Aspyr’s Gameagent website. For more on Civilization: Beyond Earth, check out our coverage from Gamescom.
