Techland announced via its Facebook page today that Dying Light will now be a new-gen and PC exclusive.
The open-world game set during the zombie apocalypse was originally supposed to be on current- and last-gen consoles and is set to launch this coming January. Dying Light is still on track for that release time, but Techland is no longer coming to PS3 or Xbox 360.
In the Facebook post, Techland cites the ambitious project and the technological demands as forcing them to release only on superior hardware. The post states:

EA has detailed a broader relationship with Disney than was previously understood when the deal was announced in May 2013. We knew that the arrangement gave EA permission to create games on all platforms in the “most popular” genres. Now it seems, EA is doing more.
On the Q2 FY15 earnings call today, EA said that it will be also dipping into social and mobile titles with the Star Wars license. "Disney is looking for us to help support a broad effort of bringing back the Star Wars franchise across mobile, social, tablet, online, console. Across all venues," said EA chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen. According to the original press release, Disney would retain rights to social games and other Star Wars experiences. "Disney will retain certain rights to develop new titles within the mobile, social, tablet and online game categories," said the original release.
Disney, too, has pushed social and mobile games in the Star Wars universe. The studio may have pulled the plug on NimbleBit’s Tiny Death Star and Star Wars Assault Team, but that was reportedly in service of support for Star Wars Commander and other “priority titles.”

Today, Andrew Wilson, chief executive officer of Electronic Arts, confirmed that a new Battlefield will hit in 2016.
Yes, a new Battlefield is coming, but not until holiday of 2016. Wilson shared the news after the company confirmed a March 17 release date for Battlefield Hardline today. This gives Hardline some breathing room and also opens the door for Star Wars Battlefront, which EA confirmed was still on track for a holiday 2015 release, as confirmed in the tweet below:
May the Force be with you: Star Wars Battlefront will release for Holiday 2015.

GameInformer News EA has announced its financial performance for second quarter of fiscal year 2015. The company boasted better than expected net revenue, with strong performance from Madden, Hockey, and FIFA Ultimate Team.
EA’s net revenue exceeded projections, leading the publisher to raise year-end projections. GAAP net revenue was $990 million for the quarter against projections of $965 million. This is a 42 percent increase over the same quarter last year.
The publisher is on track for a successful year, in no small part due to its digital performance. Digital purchases are up 6 percent on PC, 11 percent on mobile, and a significant 95 percent on console. The latter is driven largely by the success of Ultimate Team in-game transactions.

GameInformer News As part of its quarterly earnings report, EA has announced when Visceral’s take on the Battlefield franchise will arrive. Battlefield Hardline hits retail on March 17, 2015.
EA delayed the game in July following the beta test that ran during E3. "This feedback spurred us to start thinking about other possibilities and ways we could push Hardline innovation further and make the game even better," said DICE vice president Karl Magnus Troeddson at the time. "The more we thought about these ideas, the more we knew we had to get them into the game you will all be playing. However, there was only one problem. We would need more time. Time that we didn’t have if we decided to move forward with launching in just a couple of months."
EA also delayed the next Need for Speed title out of 2014 to give the Ghost Games more time. We’ll have more from EA’s upcoming earnings call later this afternoon.
