We’ve featured artist Marinko Milosevski a number of times in the past. You might recall his Pokémon tourism posters or his take on Star Fox (if not, you might want to check those out).

Now, Milosevski is back to celebrate Nintendo’s biggest title of the fall. Super Smash Bros. gets the poster treatment, and it features a number of familiar fighters. Jigglypuff has never looked so fierce.

Halloween is upon us, and digital storefronts are offering up deals on spooky games. Both Steam and Humble Bundle have kicked off themed offers, so turn the lights down, put your headphones on, and get ready for some frights.

Valve is celebrating with a Steam sale featuring nearly 500 titles. Included are some spooky entries, like Left 4 Dead 2, State of Decay, Mudered Soul Suspect, and a bundle of the first two Dead Space games. There’s a number of thematic entries with less frightful framing too, including Devil May Cry games, both Costume Quest titles, and entries from the Legacy of Kain series.

Humble Bundle also has something festive for the holiday. The Humble Halloweekly Bundle includes Knock-Knock, Home, and Halloween Drop Heroes HD at the pay-what-you-want level. Chip in more than the average ($4.11 at publication), and you’ll also get Betrayer, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and Our Darker Purpose.

Report: Driveclub’s Problems Result From The Code, Not The Servers

about X hours ago from

New information sheds some light on the problems facing Evolution Studios’ Driveclub. According to a new report, the issue has little to do with the servers and everything to do with the way the game was coded.

French outlet Gameblog spoke with president of PlayStation France Philippe Cardon about the matter. “In the programming of the game, there was an error that prevents us from welcoming enough players at the same time,” he says. “All this is being reprogrammed, but it takes much longer than simply adding 1000, 2000, or 3000 servers.”

Earlier today, president of Sony worldwide studios Shuhei Yoshida shared that the PlayStation Plus edition of the game is delayed “until further notice.” Cardon echoed Yoshida’s statement that the fix for these problems does not have a specific rollout date yet.

There’s a common theme in November’s Xbox Live Games With Gold: destruction. There’s one new title for Xbox One and two for Xbox 360.

On Xbox One, you’ll step into the boots of Volgarr the Viking, a new ID@Xbox game. On Xbox 360, the first half of the month brings candy-filled mayhem with Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise. For the second half of November, you’ll be able to tear down Mars in Red Faction: Guerrilla.

As a reminder, Xbox One games are tied to an active Xbox Live Gold membership. On Xbox 360, you’ll be able to play the Games with Gold titles, even if your membership lapse.

Ubisoft Digital Sales Up Over 90 Percent In Better Than Expected Quarter

Despite a dip in sales for its second quarter, Ubisoft’s current fiscal year is on track to meet projections. The company reports half-year sales are 67.9 percent higher (compensated for exchange rates) than last year at this time.

Ubisoft’s fiscal year got off to a strong start thanks to Watch Dogs. The company surpassed its performance in the first quarter, with over 8 million copies of Watch Dogs shipped to retail. That number now exceeds 9 million.

Sales at the half-year mark are €484.2 million ($616.3 million), compared to €293.3 million ($373.32 million) in FY14. Sales in the second quarter total only €124.1 million ($158 million) versus performance last year of €217.7 million ($277.1 million).

Driveclub PlayStation Plus Edition Postponed 'Until Further Notice’

about X hours ago from

Driveclub has had a rocky launch that resulted in the delay of the slimmed down PlayStation Plus edition. We have been awaiting word on when that would be released, and unfortunately the news isn’t great.

“With the high volume of new players and additional server load the PS Plus Edition is anticipated to bring, we are currently not confident that we can guarantee the best online experience,” writes Sony president of world wide studios Shuhei Yoshida. “Until we can ensure that everyone can enjoy the full social connected online experience, we will be postponing the release of the PS Plus Edition until further notice.”

Additionally, the server problems that the game has faced since its October 7 launch are not fully resolved, nor will they be any time soon. “Unfortunately, the time frames required to roll out the fully connected experience will be longer than anticipated and we do not have an exact time frame for when they will be resolved,” Yoshida writes. “We will continue to update you on progress and you can find the latest info on the DRIVECLUB Facebook page.”
