Lords Of The Fallen Game-Breaking Bug Gets A Patch

Readers reported to us last week that some Lords of the Fallen players were experiencing a game-breaking bug. The issue in question occurred when players fell into a pit in the Catacombs area of the game and could not get out.

We reached out to publisher Bandai Namco for news, and have just received word that a patch is available. The good news is that you won’t experience the issue anew after the patch. Unfortunately, the update won’t actually get you out of the pit. You’re stuck.

The PC patch also improves stability, fixes a bug related to saving of display settings, and also addresses a door spawn point in the Catacombs. Developer CI Games says it is working on another patch that will further improve stability and address other gameplay issues. For more, check out our review.

Warner Bros. CEO Announces Layoffs In ‘Most Business Groups’

Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara announced to his company’s employees that layoffs are set to begin across the organization this week. While there are no specifics yet about Warner Bros. Interactive, Tsujihara says that “most business groups will be announcing staff changes.”

“These are difficult decisions, and we don’t take them lightly,” Tsujihara wrote in a memo to staff that was provided to Game Informer. “We examined every aspect of our businesses to ensure that we were restructuring in a way that would allow us to minimize the impact on our employees, while continuing to adapt to the changing global marketplace.”

In addition to cuts starting this week, Warner Bros. will continue layoffs through the first quarter of 2015. International branches of the company will be impacted also, with those announcements coming early next year.

Rockstar Releases Three Minutes Of Intense First-Person GTA V Gameplay

A rumor turned into an official confirmation this morning regarding GTA V's first-person mode for new-gen consoles and PCs, and Rockstar has released some footage showing the new mode in action.

You can check out the footage below which is surprisingly intense. The GTA series has always been full of action, but placing it in this new intimate point of view elevates the action to a surprising degree – or at least it does in this trailer. It also looks a lot more difficult.

Rockstar apparently made a whole new set of animations for all the protagonists in order to implement the first-person mode which is coming to PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 18 and PC on January 27 . You can find out more about the new mode here.

New Mexico's Exhumed Collection Of Trashed Atari Cartridges Up For Grabs On eBay

The assorted Atari cartridges discovered during the filming of the Atari: Game Over documentary are up for sale on eBay, as promised by the city of Alamogordo, New Mexico.

There are 99 listings online selling titles like Asteroids, Missile Command, Warlords, Defender, Star Raiders (with key pad!), Swordquest, Phoenix, Centipede, and of course E.T., both with and without a box. Most of the auctions start at $50, but the E.T. cartridges are already climbing. The auctions end in about eight days and you can take a look at them here. Of the approximately 1,300 uncovered cartridges, about 100 were given to the documentary crew that uncovered them, and many more were donated to assorted museums. When Alamogordo, New Mexico revealed its intentions to sell the cartridges, it said about 700 were left over to sell, so this eBay auction does not represent the entire collection.

For more on the dig that uncovered the fabled cache of cartridges, head here. For more pictures from the event care of Microsoft, head here. The documentary, Atari: Game Over, premieres this month on Xbox Live.

Hardcore Is A Full Length Movie That Looks Like A First-Person Shooter

Similar to this YouTube video from the same director, Hardcore is a Sci-Fi action movie shot entirely from a first-person perspective using a special camera rig. Even though it was all obviously shot in the real world, many of these scenes look like they could have been pulled directly from Call of Duty or Battlefield.

The film's director Ilya Naishuller is currently seeking funding to finish the film via IndieGoGo, so if you want to like what you see, you can donate to help the project get completed.

Move Over Baby Mario, This Infant Can Race Better Than You

Move Over Baby Mario, This Infant Can Race Better Than You

Next time we need a ride to the hospital we hope this baby is nearby, because we'd trust him behind the wheel any day. Seriously this baby might be better at racing games than most of the people we see at Dave & Busters.

It's entirely possible that there is a second controller actually doing all the work off screen, but this baby seems to be making all the right moves. He reminds me a lot of myself at that age.
