When I consider how much of my life I've spent playing and writing about games, I like to think I’m pretty devoted to my favorite pastime. Then I take a look at the Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition, the latest of which comes out tomorrow, and bury my head in shame. The 2015 record holders are no exception.

The Guinness World Records 2015 Gamer’s Edition compiles the most of the most and the best of the best in the worldwide gaming community. People like Spain’s Rodrigo Santos, who owns the world’s single largest collection of Tomb Raider memorabilia at 2,383 distinct items, personify dedication to the hobby.

Also included are Austrian record holder Martin Fornleitner, whose 24 hour and 10 minute Minecraft play session earned him a spot in this year’s records book, and Spaniard Hecaterina Perez, who holds the records for longest World of Warcraft, MMORPG, and JRPG marathons. Damon “Karma” Barlow’s $229,628 combined tournament winnings make him the world’s highest-earning Call of Duty player.

Nintendo Details Splatoon Single-Player Content

about X hours ago from

It's octopus versus squid in Splatoon's single-player component.

When the game was unveiled at E3, all Nintendo was willing to talk about was the game's multiplayer modes, and it wouldn't even confirm if there weer plans for a single-player game. Today. during a Nintendo Direct, Nintendo showcase some of the game's single-player action.

The squid are fighting enemy octopus, who look partially electronic. The video showcased squid (the good guys) spraying paint and navigating large moving structures, using their ability to swim in paint to leap to new areas. There were also geysers of paint and a fan which looked like it was shooting paint everywhere as well.
